We had a local public park nuked. Like 12+ stops. After pulling up Maps I can see that someone moved the Coast Guard location to the middle of the park. I’m assuming this is how they were able to do this seemingly overnight. The coast guard is on the shore, down a private road .6 miles from the park.
Seems like the property owner made a geoblocking request either recently or in the past, I’m sure staff will let you know. Do they still appear on the map when attempting to nominate something new?
I don’t believe that’s genuine though as we’ve had issues in the past. The people on the street next to the park tried to get the city to ban gameplay there and the city told them no, it’s a public park, you don’t get to decide how people use. This was a few years ago now and the 7pm restriction (they all shut off at 7pm) was the resolution to that.
I haven’t tried to nominate anything yet without having a better idea of what happened and how to hopefully prevent it?
Anyone that owns/manages property can request removal, including local governments, and they do typically have to provide proof that they do have jurisdiction over the area. Being that the local government requested the removal, you may have to work with them to have the Wayspots restored. They are the only ones at this point able to contact Wayfarer to request restoration.
If you don’t know, here’s the link that can be used by property owners/managers to request removal/modification of Wayspots:
This was 100% done by the local government? There’s no way for someone to be dishonest about that? I only ask because as I’m looking into this further, the couple that lives on the street is famously suing the game. (Easily found on Google) and has failed to get on city council multiple times since then. I just want to make sure this was done legitimately before I take any other steps. Thank you.
