People modifying POIs for trolling

Hello, for years there have been people in my town who have been changing the titles and descriptions of POIs. They add incorrect information and try to insert their personal names and the name of their friend group so that it appears on the POI. Unfortunately, they have managed to deceive the Wayfarer reviewer community multiple times, getting several of these modifications approved. I would like to list below some POIs where it would be advisable to restore the title and description to ensure they contain correct information again:

First POI:

  • Current Wayspot Title: Ángel *******
  • Suggested title: Melena ondulada al viento
  • Suggested description: Pintura de una mujer de cabellos ondulados, dibujado con trazos sombreados para darle solemnidad y elegancia
  • Location (lat/lon): 38.014616,-1.037662
  • City: Alquerías
  • Country: Spain

Second POI:

  • Current Wayspot Title: Pabellón De Deportes Miguel Ángel Cámara Botía
  • Suggested title: Pabellón de deportes de Alquerías
  • Suggested description: Pabellón polideportivo de la pedanía de Alquerías
  • Location (lat/lon): 38.012767,-1.035129
  • City: Alquerías
  • Country: Spain
  • Additional Information: The current description of the POI has been changed to add a personal name as if it was built by them. Besides that, the name “Miguel Ángel Cámara Botía” is no longer used in our town because this mayor was accused of corruption, and therefore I suggest that the title should also be changed.

Third POI:

  • Current Wayspot Title: Busto a Ángel ****
  • Suggested title: Busto a Ángel Riquelme Paredes
  • Suggested description: Busto a la labor humano-sanitaria del practicante Ángel Riquelme en Alquerías.
  • Location (lat/lon): 38.015645,-1.03789
  • City: Alquerías
  • Country: Spain

I hope you can accept these changes to restore the title and description of the POIs, and I also hope you consider the necessary actions with the original users to prevent this from happening again.

Hello!

I would suggest using the report abuse button at the top of the forums page to report this directly to the team, they’ll take a look at it.

I would also use the reporting abuse form or help chat to report the abuse. Do not accuse specific people unless you have evidence. But do explain why these current texts should be modified. Niantic will be able to see who submitted the edits.

If it’s IRL names or similar personal identifiers, it needs to go to the abuse form, not to in-game edit wars.

It’s not always obvious to new forum users where and how they should post.
