Double Eagles Charlotte pokemon stop was accidentally reported by me due to a pocket dial which somehow reported this pokestop in charlotte nc and it was deleted. I saw the email after the pocket dial and opened it to see it had been submitted. 35.15244 n 80.824 w - this is a safe public fountain accessible to pedestrians and not on private property, a commons area outside of offices with benches and sitting areas. Sorry for the confusion.

Welcome to the forum @ErrolSnow
Whilst you may have accidentally reported this, it appears that the physical object that the wayspot represented is in the middle of a body of water, and thus it doesn’t have safe pedestrian access. This is why your removal report was accepted, even if you didn’t intend to send it in the first place. Therefore it’s unlikely that the wayspot will be restored.
I looked at an old Ingress map to see what this had been:
35.152226,-80.823582
This is what
@hankwolfman was explaining. The eagles are in the middle of the pond and not accessible.
On further inspection, it does appear that there is a plaque of some sort in front of the fountain. Does that say “Double Eagles”? I can’t read it. Repurposing the statue to the plaque is not allowed, but if the original point of interest was tied to the plaque, then maybe this could be restored? Niantic will have the records that I do not have. And the pin in Ingress is on the other end of the pool from here.
Thanks for the appeal, @ErrolSnow We have taken another look but stand by our decision to retire this Wayspot.
