POI not appearing in Pokemon Go for no reason

This stop was finally accepted upon appeal but has not appeared in Pokemon Go, as you can see it was submitted in an empty S17 cell…the only explanantion is that the location of the stop has been edited by someone else since I submitted it, is this possible?

Hello and welcome @TheoVodkat

Is this your wayspot?

Telford King Charles III coronation walk route marker

If not can you supply the photo and title please.

If it is ……
you can see it has been located close to

Telford T50 Coronation walk route marker

First it would be much better if you could give the trail markers names that are more distinctive, a location reference is a good way. If a nomination does not have a distinctive name then a reviewer can rate it as poor quality.
As you can see the submission location has been changed. Reviewers can move a location during review if they believe it is incorrect.
That looks as though that has happened in this case.
The change appears to be correct.

I presume your pin position was on this lampost on the footpath alongside this close on Gainsborough Ave. That lamppost has no yellow utility marker.

However the lampost it has been moved to does.

You can see the route marker on the post and it all matches this photo.

If this is the case then please don’t do this.

Edit sorry Hank :joy: I’m sure you will mention pogo tools limitations

It’s fine, I got distracted by YouTube and left a half finished reply in the text box haha

@TheoVodkat just as a heads up, I would recommend using IITC instead of PogoMap, as PogoMap is user sourced and users aren’t always 100% accurate when it comes to sourcing coordinates for Pokéstops and Gyms.

I did have a quick check on PogoMap and noticed that “Telford T50 Coronation walk route marker” has the wrong coordinates on PogoMap compared to its actual coordinates in the database (it’s quite close, but it’s not exactly right, and inaccuracies like this can sometimes matter near cell borders).

Wow! What an amazing reply! Thank you so much! Really appreciate that! Yes, that location where it has been moved to is far more accurate than where I submitted it! I will try to be more accurate in future, I blame my fat farmer fingers!! And then, yes, therefore it is now in an already taken cell!
Thanks again!

Hi! Thank you, yes, I will check that out and use that for more detailed analysis I’m future. I use Pogomap because it is myself that has built the entire area (well most of it) so I’m quite proud of the effort I’ve put in to it!! I know a lot of my community appreciate it! (I’m a community ambassador)
Thank you so much for your reply

You have submitted a lot of the trail, it makes a good walk.
Do a search for “PoGo tools for IITC”. You will find IITC and you can use accurate information to add wayspots that become pokestops but not Ingress portals and are therefore not on IITC.
Can I ask if you are out walking the route or submitting more that you make the titles distinct?
Telford Coronation Walk, Guisbourgh Ave etc
Should be a good basis.
Your description can then cover that it’s to mark coronation of King Charles lll, length of the route and something specific about the specific trail marker eg guides walkers across the road to the footpath etc You get the idea.
If you are getting some rejections then this is likely to be at the heart of it. So changes to the style will avoid this happening.
I’m glad to hear it’s helpful.
