Pokestop got rejected

Please provide:

  • A screenshot of your nomination, including rejection reasons if it has already been rejected
  • Include the title, description, both photos, and supplemental information
  • Copy and paste the title, description and supplemental so others can translate them
  • If you feel comfortable please share the location, as it is helpful (i.e. hidden duplicates), but you can mask it if you wish.

I wasn’t really given a real reason as to why my nomination got rejected but this is 1 of 2 of the community gardens that’s have been in my apartment complex for years and since I have to walk my dog every day, I figured this would be a good spot to have it. It’s in a safe location, with no possible way that cars can come near people playing so if anyone can tell me why it got rejected, I would appreciate it.

So your nomination was most likely rejected by the Machine Learning system rather than the community, so a lack of explanation is expected. Me seeing this would have led to me rejecting this as a natural feature. I would need more information as to whether this is considered a designated Community Garden by the local authority and if there is a website to support that this is a community garden. If there was a local authority installed information / welcome sign, it may be worth subbing that instead.

There aren’t any signs near the gardens.. how would I end up having it approved then? They have been here for years and they aren’t going anywhere. There’s another pokestop near my house that is a gazebo that got approved and there isn’t a sign for it so I’m just wondering how this would work. This is my first time nominating anything so I’m also kinda new to all this.

Personally, I would abandon the idea of subbing this, but there are others in this community who can advise differently.

Regarding the Gazebo, without looking at the details surrounding the Wayspot, I can’t make any comments. If you want, if you can post the co-ordinates of the Gazebo, we can have a look around and see if there are things in your area that you can submit that may get approved.

I’ll just try again in the morning with another nomination since I don’t really feel comfortable sharing coordinates so close to my house but thank you for the help I guess

You need a better photo as that one doesn’t do the space any justice. It is very hard to tell that this is a community space.

I’m not saying this is an eligible submission that should get accepted, but a better photo gives it a chance. This definitely wants a daytime photo

My only advice is get better photo. It doesnt look like garden at all. If reviewer is struggling to figure out whats your nomination about, it will be hard to get approved.

Thank you, I appreciate it. Granted, I could’ve taken a better photo of it so I’ll definitely try

You actually share the coordinate in the email.

If want to remove it, pls edit your post

Anyway, i think i saw picnic table next to it . You can try both. The cell seems empty so it can appear as pokestop if approved.

Satelite view show it better.

If you know where Karl Rosario Park is, there are at least 3 potential Wayspot nominations there that don’t appear to be submitted… So if you are itching to nominate something that will benefit the community, it may be worth subbing those.

Having established that the photo needs changing……
The description and supplementary also need some work.
The emphasis should be the garden as a social space. So phrases that draw that out are
the Community work together to maintain the space.
The space provides a gathering point for the community
A relaxing place to sit and have a picnic with friends and community.
Hopefully that gives ideas.
Likewise with the supplementary depersonalise it. So not what you have done as an individual, but the group
What elements does the garden have
Places to sit
Places to eat
Are there any links to some social media pages showing the development or activities.
It is a community project
If you use websubmit you can have 5 supporting images. Some of these should help prove the location but if there is a notice somewhere about meeting or schedules for tending the garden that would help support the community value.

Yes, I’d like to follow up on what Eli said. When I review and vote to approve a Community Garden, I’m thinking of a space where people come together to plant and grow things. While working in the garden, they interact with each other - share knowledge and cuttings or just appreciate each other’s work.

The image you submitted made this look like simple landscaping created and maintained by a professional company. The satellite view shows what look like planters to me. But I still want proof that those are maintained by the people living there rather than a landscaping company.

The picnic table is a very strong signal that this is meant to be a community space. I would make sure that is featured in your next photo.

I did just take one photo of one garden bed, I’ll try again with the entire garden
