Around me, there are several PokéStops that don’t match the names of their actual locations. How can I report or correct this error? Please help, as I’m still new to the Niantic Wayfarer community.
If you’re level 35+, and have completed the Wayfarer onboarding, you can do this:
- Tap the PokéStop
- Tap the “>” at top right
- Tap the three dots at top right
- Select “Edit Title” or “Edit Location” depending on what needs changing
- Provide the correct title or move the map pin to the right location
- Tap “Submit”
This will then go on to your Contributions page on Wayfarer and other users will vote on your change as to whether it should be implemented

Can you elaborate on what you mean the names don’t match the places? Are they businesses that changed? If so, you would need to report them for removal as repurposing is not allowed.

The PokéStop name doesn’t match the actual place. For example, the name shown in the PokéStop is that of a company, while the real building at that location is actually a place of public school. But thank you I’ll probably report this issue as you suggested.

Are you sure these are pokestops, your description makes me think it is a powerspot (Dynamax).
A large percentage of these where a database import of business names with the majority not meeting the criteria to be a pokestop.
As stated these can be reported for removal especially if they are on School Property.
