I have tried to nominate a pokestop multiple times in two locations both are good locations that stay busy and would be good spots for them. Have not got an update or email about either one.

FYI, you don’t submit Pokestops even though that is how the in game prompt reads. There is a secondary condition in order for an approved Wayspot to be used as a Pokestop that you can read about here: https://pokemongohub.net/post/article/comprehensive-guide-s2-cells-pokemon-go/
The community has uncovered these S2 cell algorithms. Staff do not acknowledge the S2 cell use, but do say there is an extra step.
