Pokestop was moved and disappeared

When submitting a Wayspot Appeal, make sure to include as much of the following information as possible:

  • Wayspot Title: ORF Teich
  • Location (lat/lon): 48.1760,16.2916
  • City: Vienna
  • Country: Austria
  • Additional Information (if any):

This Pokestop was moved (and disappeared in the process) to a wrong location.

It’s the water pond visible on the satellite photo (not filled with water at the time of the satellite photo). It’s also visible ingame as water.

It was moved south east and disappeared as a Pokestop but is somehow still visible in the nomination page.

I think it’s pretty obvious that a huge pond did not move to that location

Hello and Welcome,

I have no idea why it would be moved in to the middle of the road, this has put it in to a cell that already has a pokestop which is why it is no longer shown.

Just a bit more information “Ponds” are not easy accepts which usually require something to anchor it. Does it have benches where people can socialise?

Just trying to warn that moving it back may not get it back on the map and is unlikely to return as a Gym.

If you do want to attempt to correct it’s location I suggest taking an image that includes the GPS data, either as part of the file or using a app such as “GPS Map Camera”.

Good luck.

Especially in the summer the location is used by many to sit arround and socialize. It’s not a natural pond, it is man made, for this and “cooling the surrounding” purpose. It wasn’t a gym, just a regular pokestop.
No idee why it was moved

Sorry, I took the in game map screen shot as showing the gym.

Hopefully others will advise but I would ask the question “Is this made for people to socialise” or just “somewhere they could”?

That’s why I asked whether there was benches around it or are people just sitting on the wall?

Just don’t want you to get your hopes up that a location edit is going to 100% fix this.

Good Luck

The corresponding portal in Ingress is at the location you said this was at before it moved. The satellite images don’t help, but it is hard to see any genuine reason for the wayspot being moved from
/somewhere where a pond is not visible on google aerial views but might exist/ to /somewhere where a pond most definitely does not exist/.

I would say this is an abusive edit, but normally that is done for some purpose, and this just removed a pokestop, not a gym.

Thanks for the appeal, @jomanhoman! We have taken another look, and we’ve decided to move the Wayspot to the correct location.
