Portal removal reason request for IFS event portal

After Shanghai IFS 202501 we found that the start portal of our mission Mission is gone and we have no idea why, Instead, portal in image

appears. This portal is really important to the community and IFS Event so we want to know:

  1. Why did it gone? Illegal image? Then why remove the portal instead of remove the image?
  2. And what could we do now if it is possible to bring this portal back?

Both photos on the removed wayspot contain Ingress references, which is something that is prohibited in wayspot submissions unless they’re specifically relevant to the wayspot. The object clearly isn’t Ingress related, but was configured to make the Ingress references. Niantic doesn’t like to leave wayspots without photos, so they likely just retired it for having no valid photos.

I don’t know what the title and description of the wayspot says, so I’m unsure if that’s had any bearing on the removal, but for future reference, definitely avoid all game references when making wayspot submissions.
