Possible new PokéStop

I would like to know if this location is suitable to become a POI (Point of Interest) designation. It is the health department of the city of Camaragibe, and the central sign reads “PREFEITURA DE CAMARAGIBE SECRETÁRIA DE SAÚDE” (City Hall of Camaragibe, Health Department). If it is suitable, I would appreciate suggestions for the designation’s name and description.

How is a health department a great place for exercise, exploration, or being social? Can you explain?

Hi,

I am going to move this to nomination support.:smiling_face_with_sunglasses:

What sort of activity happens at the health department?

There can be a common misunderstanding that any government building can be a wayspot, but that is not the case as many don’t meet the fundamental criteria.

What would make this a special place to go to?

This building serves the local community. In a city, there may be several health buildings like this one, intended for quick clinical care, blood tests, ultrasounds, prenatal care, and social programs for the elderly, offering physical activities such as physiotherapy, music, and dance. Many people pass through the building daily with their children, nephews, nieces, etc. While waiting to be seen, they can play games using a PokéStop located there.

Thanks for explaining your thinking more.

It doesnt sound like you describing and emergency service or purely a administrative place.

Health Centres are busy places and it is a a very boring time sitting around waiting.

However the reason people go there is not one that fits with the criteria. There are lots of buildings that serve the community that are not eligible. A lot of people whilst sitting around will start to chat but that doesnt make it a place that was designed to have a focus on being social.

So the actual building isnt meeting criteria.

There may be things within in it that are eligible. You mentioned music and dance. If there is part of the building where the primary function is to provide a social space for groups then that may be suitable.

There may be a plaque or work of art at the entrance or in one of the waiting areas that could also meet criteria. But always do keep in mind that some of the activities in the Health Centrex may be very personal and sensitive and put yourself in the shoes of potential users before submitting at a particular location.

So perhaps not the building as a whole, but something specific with in it.

Okay, I understand. I’ll go back there later to check which rooms might be eligible. Another point: can I use AI solely to remove a person from the photo? For example, I took a picture and a person appeared in it; can I use AI to remove the person from the image so as not to expose them?

I don’t think there is a clear answer on this. The photo guidelines are here: https://wayfarer.nianticlabs.com/new/help/photo-guidelines

They say don’t submit photos that are “Obviously edited or doctored photos”

If it is impossible to tell that you have erased a person from the photo, and you don’t alter the photo to misrepresent it, then I think that does not fall in the rejection criteria. I do not believe that you will get a Niantic statement that this is okay to do, but I have done it.
