I started reviewing again for the first time in quite a while and while a lot of things were cut and dry, there was some I had to reject that either

  1. Was something that could pass, but I either couldnt prove its existence due to bad supporting photo or bad photos in general
  2. Was something that couldnt be accepted, but absolutely had something that could be in the supporting photo

While number 1 the rejection reasons can give a hint at how tk improve it, number 2 cant.

So my potential improvement suggestion is tht people who have the top rank could be allowed to give advice (optional obviously) to the submitter, like for example

“Couldnt work out where this wildlife sign was as google maps is out of date, retake your supporting g photo to show a wider angle so we can tie it up”

Or

“This would have been an easy accept, but the photo youve used is mostly trees and bush, try going round the front rather than the side”

Or even

“Youve submitted a random patch of grass, which doesnt meet any criteria, but theres a map of your village right next to it, submit that instead”

Obviously niantic can set parameters, bo insulting words, no swear words etc, possibly even have ai do a quick sweep of it to make sure its not bad (or human checks it)

It always been an issue over the years thay new submitters dont fully understand the criteria, will submit something they’ve seen as a stop before, it gets rejected, they get demoralised then either find a group that helps or, more often than not, stop submitting. So having some of the more experienced reviewers give help in the rejections would be useful imo

I think if such a feature were ever implemented it would have to be a multiple choice of preset phrases rather than allow free text.

Imo this could be implemented with an AI model that summarizes all reasons given, like “many reviewers mentioned they feel like the submission could be eligible, but only if additional info is provided. Some also recommend submitting [thing] in the background”.
That way the AI could also filter out bad words, bad advice etc

That would be very helpful as well and would make it sound a bit more professional rather than “dont submit the patch of grass when theres a perfectly good map right there”
