Powerspot removed after adding waypoint, seems there is a powerspot rule we don't know

Intro:
I am trying hard to create stops, gyms and powerspots to our pokemon community, but there seems to be some powerspot rule I have missed, and it have resulted in a powerstop less and not one more as expected.
And it is very hard to match the powerspot rules in a small city.
Because first to find a qualified object in a cell to a pokestop, then even finding another qualified object in the same cell - then to top the with the rule of atleast 22 meters to any other waypoint.
In this case I have followed all of them but still a powerspot was removed and not added.

The case:
Pin 1 on the maps was approved and became a powerspot and has been so for months, no problems there.
Then I figured out there was a potential for another powerspot in Pin 2 location. I got that waypoint approved as well but the resulted, not in 2 powerspots, but in the removal of the first powerspots.
What I have checked:

  • The waypoints as you can see on the image, both still are approved, so it is not that they have been removed.
  • There is approx. 30 meters between waypoint 1 and 2 so it is not that there is a problem with to close to a not shown object.
  • The thing I have missed, is that both waypoints are in the same cell, but again I acctually read that it should not be a problem - but again that could just be lack of knowledge for this exact case. But even if this is the case, I can’t see why one of them should not be a powerspot still?
  • I have verified they was not shown over multiple maxbattle days/mondays and there are only one other powerspot in the Level 14 S2 Cell.

So the questions:

  • How could it be there is not atleast a single powerspot in this case?
  • Is there any way to edit a approved waypoint, that is not shown in pokemon go? (before I have heard it was possible with Ingress, but that should not be possible after the sale to Scopely)

Mod Edit: Remove the screenshot containing third party tools.

Hi, just to make sure have you also checked with the official wayfarer map if there is an imported powerspot somewhere active instead and then it would be the normal rotation of Ppwerspots instead?

I am a bit unsure what you means by official wayfarer maps, but there is no other new powerspots in the areal for as longs as powerspots has been a thing. I am very aware of all changes in the areal, as I creates most spots. Also it has been a powerspot just untill this wayspot was added, and it would at least be in rotation if it still was a powerspot(as I understand it), and I have observed it for months now without changes.

Welcome back,

Can you post the location so we can take a look at the Wayfarer Map.

Around here: 56.08058993170552, 10.048673106664332

This one does appear to be in the pool to be used as a Power Spot. They do normally rotate often.

I found out that spots that are included in the pool sometimes are not used.

I have it with one of my spots. It is always choswn for the powerspot pool since there are less than 12 options avaible, but it hasn’t appeared this whole month.

It will appear fine in the next powerspot pool, but sometimes it can happen.

How do you see that it is live? On the Wayfarer map all I see is that it is “Not In Game”.
The main reason that I do not believe it is in the game any more is that it disapeared the exact day the other waypoint got approved on 11. Feb.
I see other powerspots near by rotating fairly offen, but neither of those (1 or 2) has been seen since..

The grayed out Power Spot indicates that it is in the pool to be used as Power Spots, but not currently being used as one. The “Live” is for the Wayspot, not the Power Spot. Sorry I did not explain that. I have a third party tool installed that shows that panel. If you are seeing the “not in game” exclamation point in the nomination map screen in game, then that means that the Wayspot still exists.

I also have Wayspots that used to be used as Power Spots, but no longer are. I don’t know how they pick the ones to use, or why one goes out of the rotation pool. I don’t personally have any on my nearby that are currently showing the gray Power Spot that are never used. But @AMG7070 has done a lot more research on these than I have. I am more a “you figure it out, then explain it to me slowly several times” person.

I have seen cases and even one from myself that 2 powerspots pretty close to each other in 1 cell, that atleast only 1 is chosen. But that is random as well.

With your case I would expect it like mine, it is in the used powerspot pool, but not showing up this month.

Well today it was actually proved that you are right, as the new waypoint(2) appeared as a powerspot, 2 months after it got added
Thanks for your insights.
