Hi there,
I have a question regarding Power Spots. We have a Level 14 S2 cell that currently has no Power Spots at all. I’m trying to decide where to submit new ones, but there isn’t much of interest in the area. Surprisingly, the most viable spots are all clustered together.
My question is: taking into account the 22-meter distance rule for PokéStops in a Level 17 cell, is it possible to have multiple Power Spots in the same cell? Even if the powerspots are next to each other?
I have not observed it in person, but there have been several reports of 2 Power Spots in the same L17 S2 cell on the Wayfarer Discussion Discord. I know @AMG7070 is active here, too, and should be able to confirm.
This may be possible because they were imported, but I wanna know if It’s possible to submit 2 powerspots on the same cell and make them appear at the same time ingame.
Yes I have seen more than 1 Powerspot in the same cell ( quite close) but not active at the same time.
It is nice to see wayspots being used.
Basically if it is interesting and fits criteria then simply submit them.
So I guess it’s a restriction where two powerspots can exist in the same cell but they wont be active at the same time?
Those two I showed you are both active at the same time, according to the Wayfarer Map. I will have to wait for them to respond to see if that is just a data delay.
Hey everybody,
I see that I was tagged and that my cell example had been used.
Is there anything that still needs extra explaination or confirmation on my side so everything is clear?
Let me know
.
Can you confirm that both were live in the same L17 cell at the same time? I think that was the only question left. TY!
Hi, I have some news about this topic.
Basically, I’m testing in an area of my city where there were no powerspots in the entire S2 level 14 cell.
In total, I placed 5 powerspots:
- 1 of them was in an S2 level 17 cell that only had one wayspot → It synced as a powerspot and is now ingame (max Mondays).
- The other 4 were in an S2 level 17 cell that had 2 wayspots → NO powerspot synced, and the Wayfarer map doesn’t detect them as “ingame”, even though the 22-meter distance from all wayspots was respected.
(Attached screenshot)
Then, I also placed some powerspots in another S2 level 14 cell and this happened:
- 3 wayspots in the same S2 level 14 cell, but only one shows up in the game. The other two don’t appear as “ingame” on the Wayfarer map. This also happens with other imported powerspots, so maybe it’s just a matter of time before they appear ingame.
The thing is that, from what people have observed, the normal situation for “max Mondays” is to have 5 powerspots per S2 level 14 cell. And in both of the cells mentioned, the first one only has 1 powerspot, and the second one has 4 powerspots. Either you’ve been very lucky having 2 active powerspots in the same cell, or at least one of them is imported and “ignores” the limitation of 1 powerspot per S2 level 17 cell.
What do you think? Am I assuming too much? Would it be better to space out the powerspots and submit some powerspots in cells with only one wayspot?
Hey @Miguering
Great to hear from you again.
Let me break down that comment into smaller sections

That is great, good result then.

That is interesting, I would have expected atleast ome of those to sync. When did they get approved?
Otherwise if the approval was April 1st or before I expect this to be case where the spots don’t sync as powerspots now, but later. For example, 2 sync ago a spot of mine that had always follwed the 22M rule synced in as powerspot, 1 year later after approval. This sync I had another one which was accepted 7 months ago and now finally synced in for the first time. I think this might be a case with these spots as well.

It seems like this situation is quite random. I also have 2 of these cells with multiple possible powerspots. You have already seen the one with 2 powerspots active in the S2 L17, but I have 2 more of these. S2 L17 cell, 2 wayspots possible for powerspots, but only syncs in, always. I think this might be case here, just with a 3 spot cell for you.

You are correct on the observations. But it depends what gets chosen in the powerspot pool, if it doesn’t have 5 options in the pool, there will be less than 5.
I have been, I will say that. The situation hasn’t changed since then. Still the 2 spots in that L17.
They are both submitted by me. I have very low imports in my area, therefore the many submissions
.
Check back every sync, it could happen at any sync, looking back on my situations.
Most of my spots are pretty spaced out as well, and they are still different. 1 has 2 powerspots in L17. The other only has 1 always in the L17, despite 2 being there.
I think I adressed everything
.
Let me know if you have any further points you want to discuss with me.
Happy to hear from you

Wow, I feel like a Power Spot pro already.
Basically, most Wayspots were approved in February/March; some were even approved on March 30th, just a few days before the supposed april 4th sync. Regardless, I don’t think the submission date is the issue, since one of the Power Spots that appeared in-game was approved at the end of March.
The thing is, I’ve been thinking about It and a theory is starting to click. I think all Power Spots are eligible and will eventually sync, but what if only one Power Spot syncs per L14 cell at a time? So far, that rule has held up in my case. I had overlooked another Power Spot approved in an L17 cell with only one Wayspot that hasn’t appeared in-game either.
There’s nothing left to do but wait. I assume new Power Spots are supposed to sync on the 4th of every month, right?
Thanks for sharing your wisdom.
Best regards.
Hey, let’s breal that message down again![]()
That is very good, and you should. Maybe consider joining the Wayfarer discussion discord where we also have a powerspot channel.
Yeah, that does seem like it is no problem indeed. We have seen reports of spot syncing in approved on 1st of April.
Yeah, that does seem the case with what I have seen, sometimes it just takes a while.![]()
I can break this theory with my L17 with 2 active powerspots in it. They both synced in at the same sync and were active at the same time by then already, so I don’t think this quite it.
The process is long sometimes, but so worth it. Keep at it![]()
No problem. Discussing something with many theories is always fun. And maybe we discover something new.
Best regards back
Let me know if you have further questions/points you want to bring up.
