What the heck is going on..everytime i make a wayspot suggestion even though its EXACTLY where I currently am, AND it fits into all criteria, it gets denied. Like for my chick fil a spot for example. It fits all criteria as “art”, and it got denied
It is a generic business.
You can not make it as art because it is a mass-produced, if you talk about the logo.
The forum is really helpful, so if you want, you can send screenshot of your nomination to here and we can see what’s wrong and what’s to improve.
Chick-fil-A is not a valid Point of Interest (POI) for Pokémon GO. As a private commercial business, it does not meet the criteria for cultural, historical, or artistic significance required by Niantic’s Wayfarer guidelines. POIs should encourage exploration, community engagement, and discovery — not simply mark the location of a fast-food chain.
Even if the restaurant features artwork or décor, that content is typically copyright-protected and owned by the company. Copyrighted material cannot be used as a POI photo or justification, as it violates Niantic’s submission rules. Additionally, the interior of a Chick-fil-A is private property, and POIs should be located in publicly accessible spaces without restrictions.
This is not 100% accurate. Many of us have successfully nominated art INSIDE of a restaurant. In fact I think that is a great way to get restaurants in the game. Also, a POI doesn’t have to be available for EVERYONE to be a legit entry.
Hey there, I’m not sure where you’re getting this, but I believe you’re misinterpreting the guidelines on 3rd party material. The restriction is on using a photo stolen or taken from an online source or directly copy & pasting written text. There is no restriction on taking a photo of wall mounted art that may be under copyright restriction.
This also appears to be a misinterpretation. The private property restriction only applies to residential property and is typically defined as “single family private residential property.”

Can we not mislabeling private property in Wayfarer?
Ticketed location, Business and Gated community is allowed. You can check by pressing “i” in Appropriate
Rejoice OP, “generic business” is not a valid rejection reason, see:
To be rejected it needs to be a generic business and lack any cultural significance. Fortunately, your restaurant does have a significance. A quick glance on their website, at the press room page, they do contribute to the community: they have donated 200 million meals to needy communities.
What an amazing endeavor, this is such a great and important feat, very impactful and life saving to those needy communities.
OP, if you choose to resubmit, you must convey this significance.
No matter your choice of interpretation, another way of reading it will be:
Generic - A generic business, OR chain, OR franchise that is not uniquely important to the local community
Which is how the “abuse, ridicule, or harassment” is meant to be interpreted. Neither “side” needs to be right or wrong here, but it’ll be up to the reviewer to agree with the nomination.
Additionally, I believe you’re ignoring the “uniquely important to the local community.” Donating 200 million meals is no small feat, but typically the expectation has been the business needed local significance.
Helping sponsor local sports teams, hosting community events, or similar would be more likely to convince reviewers.
But at this point, they haven’t talked about submitting the Chick-fil-A, they were commenting on the art.
Yes the locals receiving the food would deem it significant.
Hey, @CobaltRosie, I hope all these responses aren’t overwhelming. Clearly this is a passionate community hoping to help.
The best way we could help you is if you could share more details on your submission. Unfortunately, if it was the business logo you submitted it’s likely ineligible (as explained earlier). But there may be other ways we could help if you want. I know that Chick-fil-A sometimes have playgrounds or community notice boards - anything like that you’re aware of?
Cheers! Good luck and I hope we can help.
