Quick question RE: Routes in PoGo

Are routes in PoGo working off the same ML that wayfarer uses? Just curious as I had a route rejected on the basis of going through private residential which it doesn’t.

Route was from a church ground (accessible to public 24/7/365) to a Community Centre along a public footpath.

Just curious as I can’t seem to get a non automated answer from PoGo.

It’s probably not a wayfarer issue but just wanted to check in case it’s the same ML system in place as if it is then there is something being picked up incorrectly.

It may also be a complete different system in which case it doesn’t affect wayfarer.

I doubt they will reveal that level of behind the scenes information.

True. Well hopefully even if they can’t or won’t reveal that, they might look into it if they are related because the route definitely didn’t go through any PRP. It’s clearly visible on streetview and satellite that it is from the church grounds where there is an existing wayspot (The Church) to the Community Centre along a public footpath.

Just hoping it doesn’t cause a strike on my account. I have appealed it but also contacted PoGo support but just keep getting they automated response as per usual.:frowning:

I did keep pushing and finally got a human reply about a route I was trying to get removed. They wouldn’t, but it is possible to get to a person.

Cool, thanks for letting me know. I’ll keep trying.

I follow the rules and I don’t want any strikes. The route is genuine and definitely not going through PRP so want to try and get it resolved.

I only entered it because it’s a small village with a stop and a gym and I was trying to improve it for the local players. Not even my own area.

Hey @CountKnick ,

Let me start by saying that Routes are not related to Wayfarer and as a result, I’m not an expert on them.

However, out of curiosity, I decided to look into this case. I see that it was rejected after a review by our team, and the decision does seem correct based on my limited knowledge.

Please reach out to Pokémon GO support for any further information.

Best,

Early on I tried to create a route that connected two of the churches in our town and its was rejected. It was no different to any other route in the area and I instead made one from a neighbouring POI that followed almost the same route. I think the church is the point of contention here.

I don’t really want to veer off topic…..but I have quite a lot of routes that use churches so I doubt it would be that.

It was helpful to have the feedback but perhaps since this isn’t wayfarer we shoukd stop now. :smiling_face_with_sunglasses:

Or a cemetery. A friend was unable to create a route on a new greenway that goes beside an old cemetery.

oops, sorry.

@NianticAaron thank you for taking the time to take a look at it bu I am really confused as how this is correct.

The route is obviously between 2 existing legitimate stops. The Church is public access 24 Hours as apart from the church there is a grotto there also the people go to all through the day and night.

The community centre is also a legit wayspot and the only way between the 2 points is along a footpath.

I have tried reaching out to pogo support but unfortunately unlike here it seems extremely difficult to actually get a non automated response and have an actual dialogue with a human.

The only point I can see being misjudged as private property is because the wayspot is inside the church and if that’s the case it that opens up other issues.

I will keep trying to actually get in touch with someone in PoGo but I am perplexed by this one.

Happy for this to be closed now. Thank you @NianticAaron and everyone who tried to help. I’ll endeavour to get an answer from PoGo.

Good Luck.

Thanks. @SlimboyFat71 Just hoping for a explanation as I believe I followed guidelines for it and the church shouldn’t have been an issue because I’m not doing any of the things I’m not meant to do, like promote, solicit etc.

From my understanding as per guidelines they are ok as start/end points which is all it is.

I know that location of areas in PoGo is a mile off currently with rewards and stuff showing as it was caught up to 100+ miles away from the actual location. I have raised this with them but to no avail. So I don’t know if that’s what’s flagging as private.

Definitely 100% public though.

Anyhow onto pogo in the hopes of an explanation so whatever I’m missing I won’t miss again.:crossed_fingers:More worried about it affecting my account when I have genuinely no idea where the PRP is coming from and as far as I am aware I have followed the guidelines.
