guys ive gotten a warning for requesting a new wayspot
one thing in the submission was -
The photo’s caption contains abuse, mockery, or harassment of a specific person or group.
there is actually no person or group on the picture im dailey adding new poke stops and way routes and doing my dam best to add new way spots but this quite offendet me that i get a warning for some crime i didnt do
like u see litteraly 0 persons or groups in my pictures i did take the onley car charging station we have but to get a warning about abuse of persons and groups is quite sad
That wording is just the string that comes up when abuse is flagged.
Usually I ask if this photo is your own photo, or if it was submitted away from the actual location. But in this case, I wonder if they thought this was such a bad nomination that they flagged it as abuse. I would have simply rejected for the other reason, as this is just infrastructure, and not a great place of exercise, exploration, or being social.
ye i made the picture myself buddy under making waypoint i see the category car charging point and EV charging point so actually its a thing wich can go trough in po go also its a single one so more worth it then if it woud be a whole line of ev charge point i made it with zero persons and got a warning now for persons and groups whyle i always wait till evryone out of the camera point before i take the pictures im quite sad im now received a email and when i looked the request and saw this in rejection is quite unfair to treathen me like this
*The text or photo contains abuse, mockery, or harassment of a specific person or group.
*The submission lacks originality or historical or cultural significance.
If you reply to that email, you will most likely get a reply back that this is an educational email and not a warning. From the wording “Generic very low severity offense” I feel confident that they were trying to tell you that this is a “generic” nomination that is not eligible. I really dislike that the text string for “abuse” is misleading.
This is often misunderstood. The categories are for data purposes and have nothing to do with eligibility. You can find things there that are specifically not eligible, for example, elementary schools. I wish they would remove this feature.
The categories do not matter and are not a list of eligible things. It also includes items like n*de beach (a beach where people where no clothes but Discourse won’t let me say the word) just for reference
It looks like I need to add 'Something that is not remotely eligible" to the list of possible reasons for the “abuse” flag, which I think almost everyone (outside of Niantic) would agree results in a very misleading narrative.
They’re there for data collection reasons and have no merit for Pokemon Go or any other Niantic game. They often cause people to think that something is eligible because there is a category for it. All the category does is cause harm, but it’s still there.
Yes, I would also suggest categories that are optional and legit. I am 35 years old and I learn every time how children are supposed to understand this if we already have to make a huge effort to get the wayspots through.
Hey Cyndie i will reply to the email and see if it goes trough thx alot allredy in advance for quick responses and uplighting the email so i not have to be rest of day worried when i submit poke stops
A single playground can have a single wayspot, not one per item. As long as you can show that it is not part of the school grounds, being next to the school is not a problem.
One way to be sure is how it is accessed. If you can easily get to the playground from the street, and there is a fence between the playground and the school, even if there is a gate in that fence, then this is good.
If the football area is separate to the playground equipment, this is eligible to be a separate wayspot. If it is contained within the playground alongside other equipment, it probably isn’t.
If you want definite advice on that, please provide photos
A football pitch is a separate PoI to a playground and these 2 items can be submitted separately.
Think of who will use them. They are different activities and as such are separately eligible. Play areas aimed at different ages with some separation may also be separate eligible too. It all depends on how a park is laid out and what the different facilities are.
