I would like to ask for clarification and ideally a second look at an appeal that was recently rejected by the Niantic Team for an incorrect reason.
The nomination is a permanent stone statue of the Goddess Diana, intricately embedded in a jasmine hedge in the town of Nemi (Italy). My appeal was rejected by Niantic with the note: “The nomination is on the property of a private residence, which makes it ineligible.”
I am confused by this decision and would love some clarification on how commercial businesses are evaluated, because this location is not a private single-family residence.
Here are the facts regarding this nomination:

Location: It is located in a paved public space right next to a commercial business in the historic center of Nemi, totally and safely accessible to pedestrians 24/7.

Not a Private Residence: Since when are commercial businesses considered Private Residential Property (PRP)? The rules state that only single-family residences are ineligible.

Permanency & History: The statue is a permanent installation. It has been in this exact spot for over 15 years, deeply rooted in the vegetation. This is easily verifiable on Google Street View, where the statue has been visible since at least 2008.

Cultural Significance: The statue represents the Goddess Diana. Nemi is historically famous for the Sanctuary of Diana (Diana Nemorensis), and she is the absolute symbol of the city and its lake. It is a great place to explore and culturally relevant to the area.

Gentile team di Wayfarer, vi chiedo di rivedere questa proposta respinta erroneamente dal filtro automatizzato (IA). Il candidato rispetta pienamente i criteri di idoneità come “Ottimo luogo per l’esplorazione”. Si tratta di una scultura artistica in pietra, pubblica e permanente. L’IA potrebbe averla scambiata per un elemento naturale a causa della fitta siepe, o per merce temporanea per la vicinanza a un’attività commerciale. Tuttavia, l’opera è un’installazione fissa, radicata nella vegetazione e storicamente presente sul posto (verificabile su Google Street View fin dal 2008). L’accesso pedonale è totalmente sicuro e l’opera arricchisce culturalmente la passeggiata nel borgo di Nemi. Grazie per la revisione umana.

Candidato con valore artistico e decorativo che incoraggia l’esplorazione a piedi. Nota importante per la valutazione: sebbene si trovi in prossimità dell’ingresso di un’attività commerciale, l’opera è un elemento decorativo fisso, letteralmente inglobata e radicata nella vegetazione da diverso tempo (come dimostrano i rami rampicanti che la avvolgono in modo strutturale). Non si tratta di merce temporanea o spostabile. L’accesso è totalmente sicuro, trovandosi su uno slargo pavimentato a ridosso del marciapiede, liberamente accessibile 24/7. Visibile da 2008 su streetview che ne conferma la natura permanente.
