Very new here so sorry if I do something wrong. I nominated a family practice healthcare facility over a year ago and it was initially rejected but after an appeal was accepted. I have recently been attempting to get the other branch accepted but have failed 3 times now for 2 different reasons. Both clinics are virtually identical and have the same cultural/historical significance as well as being non-emergent family practices so no possibility of impeding emergency vehicles or personnel. I have explained these possible explanations in the appeal process. Anybody have any ideas?
Welcome to the forum!
IMO, the accepted appeal was a mistake. Acceptance criteria is that something must be a great place for exercise, exploration, or being social. I don’t do any of those at a clinic.
Here is a link to Niantic’s criteria:
Just wanted to add that while the clinic itself may not meet criteria, you could still submit something at the clinic if you found something like artwork that would meet criteria.
Welcome to the forums.
I understand completely why you submitted the other locations and why the rejection doesn’t make sense. You have been misled by the incorrect appeal decision that was for a wayspot that doesn’t meet any criteria and should never have been accepted.
If you can perceive the original wayspot as not meeting criteria, you will be able to see that the other two don’t either. It is a good idea to have a look at the criteria help pages that @cyndiepooh has linked.
Medical locations, clinics, very rarely (if ever) meet criteria, but it is possible for artwork/sculptures and other things that would be accepted in other places to be accepted in medical situations. Being a clinic doesn’t prevent wayspots, but the clinic itself doesn’t meet criteria.
Thank you, I’ve tried artwork around the clinic as well as a hiking trail but those have all been denied as well. Thanks again for the explanation. Can I please keep the accepted one as my coworkers and I all use it? haha
Oh I am not staff to make those decisions. I personally don’t think that it meets removal criteria either. Removal criteria is stricter than acceptance criteria.
We’re very happy to help you workshop the artwork and trail nominations (starting by looking at the rejected ones) as this sounds much more eligible and with better odds!
Where is “obstructs emergency service”?
Not for op’s question but curious about it
i can’t remember when it went away, but it has been gone for a pretty long time now.
i found where i made a report for a fire station in february 2025 using “unsafe access” and said “Obstructs emergency services has been removed from the options I can choose, but is also not safe to stand here” in the report.
