Remains of a crashed plane

On a hill walk uo a place called mickle bin. Part of the walk thats known to walkers of it is this

The reamians of a crashed plane. Im wondering if this would make a good waypoint. Its something that people may want to go see on this walk

It does seem to be a spot that people have an interest in visiting and it’s mentioned on multiple web pages. You have a stunning photo there with the view in the background, which I think helps. I would include some web links in your supporting.

Ill use those 2. Have done a quick one as this is well outside my upload range from home lol

Yeah I guess upload the basics now and edit later :smiling_face_with_three_hearts: Enjoy your walk!

Finally got some good weather ins scotland so been getting out to do the hillwalks again, even started uploading pictures and videos to tik tok, mostly to go back and look easily but also cause ingress players like to make accusations of spoofing

Just an observation and not intended to derail the nomination… I am surprised there is nothing to enclose the object and an information point describing what it is at the location. To the ordinary reviewer, they may not see the relevance of it. However, saying that, I wish you luck in getting this trhough.

On the one hand, I would totally visit if I were in the area because I’m an air disaster nerd. On the other, as a reviewer, I would be concerned about someone eventually cleaning up the wreckage. In terms of permanence, that would be the thing you would need to prove to get it past me. Furnish proof that it’s staying, and you’re in better shape.

I would nominate with all the background info about the crash.
I would definitely make it a point to look for every bit as much as the industrial archaeology I find. I think it’s quite nice there isn’t a sign right there it helps capture the wild aspect.

It’s probably good for another 70 years.

As frealeaf showed with his links, its been there since the 50s, if its not been moved by now, Im under the assumption its not moving anytime soon lmao

It crashed in 1950, so I think it’s probably staying

Oops just seen others said that!

This is one where the story definitely matters. I would reject a hunk of junk on the ground. I would accept a local interest site. Any evidence that you can find with links recommending folks go check this out would help the nomination.

Update, it got accepted

Oh congratulations! Great news
