When reviewing the photos, the oldest photos for the stop are 11 years old, showing it was nominated likely based on artwork to meet criteria. This is the artwork currently on the stop and verifiable on the new Wayfarer Map with the coordinates.
It has not had any artwork for sometime, therefore, not facilitating exploration.
It seems in the absence of the artwork, it is now a generic electrical box prone to graffiti and vandalism. Please also refer to GPS photos that I took in case I had to appeal at the time when I applied for the removal request:
I do recognize that with the eclectic array of photos originally taken on the stop.
I did try to add in the google streets view at the coordinates above to hep. I think some of the blurriness and close ups of the original photos taken by previous nominators confused me where to start. I could see, snow permitted (it has snowed since I took the GPS photos above), to further make matches with the highway signs (north) and church steeple (south).
I wonder, for starters, to help remove doubt, if these two can help connect the dots, the point of reference here using the google streets, as well is the signs on the Highway when looking northwest.
I know we had snow, I can try to go back in the morning and try to take a GPS photo from the southerly direction to match the church steeple from the other above?
Since google streetview clearly shows the artwork as having been removed, there is no need for any other photos. It’s a very simple removal request - Niantic look at the location of the wayspot, look at the current google streetview images, see that the artwork no longer exists, confirm the removal, job done.
If they wanted, Niantic could look at the streetview history, but this just isn’t necessary. They don’t need to match the streetview to the wayspot photos (even though this is easy) - they only need to match the streetview to the wayspot geo-location.
Except that didn’t happen, because your report was rejected. Hopefully staff on the forums can have another look, since that’s either an appalling review decision (which they have asked to be told about) or there’s something else going on here.
