Removal of removed and inaccessible wayspot in major construction site

The landmark item representing the wayspot “Double Twisters” which exists as a gym in Pokemon Go has been removed and inaccessible since construction began to redevelop the whole area into a future residential site since 3rd quarter of 2024.

  • Wayspot Title: Double Twisters
  • Location (lat/lon):1.263507, 103.810578
  • City: Singapore
  • Country: Singapore

As yet the project has yet to be officially named, with media references to it as Keppel Island Plot 6 or Oceania, but from site plans released in April 2025, it seems major groundwork is to follow to expand the plot which would make the site where this wayspot/pokemon go gym inaccessible for safety reasons for the foreseeable future.

Official information in this newspaper press release , however it is in mandarin chinese which I have linked:

Welcome to the forums

There are two main ways to report a wayspot that needs removal. One is on Pokemon Go itself, click on the pokestop/gym, the three dots, then Report an Issue. The other is to use the wayfarer map at Niantic Wayfarer, select the wayspot and click Report.

If a removal report is rejected, then you can post into Wayspot Appeals with the information indicated including the rejection.

If you have done this, please post your removal rejection. If you have not done this, please do so.

Thanks for your reply, here is the rejection email with my personal details redacted

I’ve had a closer look since you have already appealed (I’m just a community member like you!). You haven’t definitely said that the POI no longer exists, but that it is no longer accessible to the public. It cannot be both removed and inaccessible.

However, if it still exists and is safely accessible to people who are allowed to be there, then it is not something that should be removed, because not every wayspot has to be accessible to every person and wayspots on restricted ground can be eligible.

If it is removed and the area is inaccessible, which might be what you mean, then focus on it having been removed and provide evidence of its removal. Geotagged photos or a video would help with this, but might be hard to get if you can’t gain access.

Do the plans show that these arts sculptures will be removed or moved?

Yes, you are right, my meaning is that it has been removed and as well as the site itself is inaccessible

I managed to sneak a photo last june 2025 when the site gate was ajar and it shows the whole site including objects and buildings have been cleared. Today when i visited the site the gate is firmly closed/locked

Below are the original landmark object, photo taken from Ingress intel map/IITC and the photo of the cleared site as at June 2025, where the landmark object would have been at the edge of the grass verge after the grey (previously red) tiles

Also screenshots showing the location info of where the photos are taken which can be compared to the earlier gps coordinates google map screenshot of the wayspot in question.

That aerial (“satellite”) image is newer than Google’s (which frustratingly never has a date/age, unlike streetview), so that’s the one to use. If you can reference which service this is (even better with a link!) that would help, but that looks quite promising for confirming the removal of this wayspot.

Presumably “Twister” has also been removed?

Thanks for the suggestion! The satellite image is from Apple Maps, i have included the link and screenshot to the coordinates of the removed wayspot “Double Twister”

Yes, the other wayspot “Twister” has also been removed, it would be good if both can be removed simultaneously
