This church building has become a different church since the existing poi was submitted. Building and sign structure have been repainted (the sign structure was previously unpainted) and the center portion of the sign is now completely different (instead of inscribed text, it’s now raised lettering on a colored background with a logo; the lettering is also a different name). There are also banners and lettering on doors with the new name and logo. Satellite maps also refer to it with the new name.
I sent a report for removal on grounds that the former church does not exist, with a picture of the in game pictured sign structure showing its current appearance, with the intent of resubmitting as the new church (I have pictures on hand to do so but have not yet submitted), but this has been rejected without explanation.
Should it instead be subjected to edits? (From other threads on this forum, it seems to me that this is not the preferred way to correct this sort of situation).

The correct way would be to resubmitb the new church. I have retired the Wayspots connected to the previous church. You can go ahead and submit the nomination.

Just to note - the gym removed per this thread, is still appearing on the Campfire map. It (correctly) does not appear in Wayfarer or in Pokemon Go.
The replacement waypoint for Revive was approved on the 7th and is live, including in Pokemon Go as a regular pokestop.
It does take a few days for Campfire to catch up, but it will disappear. The fact that it is still in Campfire does not impact on gym creation for the game.
If all the rules are met there should have been another gym created in that Level 14 cell.
There is a new gym.
Just worried about the Campfire issue, since it has been ten days now.
That is odd, but unfortunately I believe that is outside the remit of wayfarer.
It’s still showing up on the Campfire map… I have no idea of any other way to contact about that, but it seems very strange.
In game and in Wayfarer it doesn’t, for over two weeks now… just worried about Campfire being inaccurate / possibly misleading other players.
My understanding is that Campfire doesn’t show ‘gyms’. Instead, Campfire shows places where raids that have happened in the last x days.
This would be consistent with:
- Gyms without raids not appearing on Campfire
- Gyms which have been retired continuing to show on Campfire after being retired
I don’t use Campfire so this is just hypothesising based on things I have heard in passing.
Regardless, this is not a Wayfarer issue. Disregard and it will probably eventually fix itself when it has surpassed the period of time that Campfire tracks raids for.

There’s several different tabs across the top of the Campfire map interface, and one of them is specifically “gyms”.
Gyms without raids… would be explained by the fact that there’s also a “raids” tab, which only shows gyms with current raids or raid eggs.
And yes, I know this isn’t strictly a “Wayfarer issue”, but there is no information on how else to contact re: Campfire issues, and this arose from the gym being discussed in this thread, being removed.
I have two gyms on my nearby that have had raids turned off. Those do not show on Campfire, even though they are still gyms. They have been like that since before Campfire was a thing.
More recently, the town turned off raids at one of the gyms at our big park. See Long time gym in park not hosting raids where I posted in November. Wow did not realize it has been so long. That gym no longer shows on campfire, but I can’t tell you how long it took to stop showing. Here is a screen snip of the Wayfarer map from my computer showing the gym, and I will switch to my phone to add a screenshot from campfire not showing the gym on the gyms tab.
Yours will drop off the Campfire map when Campfire hasn’t detected raids there in a while. I don’t know how long that “while” is exactly.
As Cyndie said, my understanding of the internal system is:
- Raid tab = Raid happening right now
- Gym tab = Raid happened in the last x day
i.e. The Campfire app doesn’t have access to a specific ‘list of all gyms’ but rather infers the existence of gyms based on past raids.
