Hi there Wayfarer friends, I wanted to reach out, I’m a Community Ambassador for Castleford in England, and as part of the Pokemon Go Ambassador program I’ve received a Campsite. As part of our Campsite we ended up with two new gyms that were basically on top of existing PoIs.
As Community Ambassador’s we’ve been told that Campsite gyms will not result in the removal of any existing PoIs, but we’ve now lost two stops both in this scenario. I suspect what might have happened is someone has attempted to move them in order to make them more accessible, but then resulted in moving them into a different cell, but to my knowledge the actual locations they were originally was accurate.
Could this be looked into please? Members of my community are concerned about the loss of the PoIs. I don’t have the exact names of the stops that were removed, one was a Riverside Map and the other was a carving in a building but was written in Latin. But if it helps I can give the coordinates for the Campsite gyms that were basically in the same location.

I appreciate any assistance/explanation you can provide.
“Map of Castleford” has the same location in Wayfarer and OPR, so doesn’t look like it has moved. It is marked as Inactive for Pokemon Go and is very close to “The River Aire - Castleford’s River”, so it appears correct that it is inactive.
“Audacter Et Sincere” is claiming to be a live pokestop
The Map of Castleford we lost some time ago, and losing one PoI wasn’t too big of a deal when the Campsite gave us more.
But the second one tipped me into wanting to ask about it. Audacter Et Sincere was literally there yesterday, but it’s no longer in Go as of today. I live in range so I can see where they both would have been. My guess is it’s just been so recent things haven’t updated to reflect it yet.
So if they’ve not moved at all, I’m actually more concerned, as one of the things we’ve been told is to not be concerned about losing PoIs as part of getting our Campsites as Campsites shouldn’t have any effect on existing PoIs. But it seems then someone has made the decision to disable them, I feel like this isn’t right, it goes against what was promised to us. So hopefully they can be made active again.
Doubt that’s particularly helpful, but that is where Audacter Et Sincere is (or rather was in the case of Go). Those with better map reading skills than I, maybe able to orientate it to make sense with the wayfarer map, but just wanted to provide some tangible proof the stop was no longer there in Go.
This is working as intended. We’re constantly making improvements to Pokémon GO and occasionally, you may notice changes to the PokéStops or Gyms in your community. While we are not able to fulfill your request to add back these locations at this time, we recognize the disappointment this may have caused and hope you continue to seek out adventures at other PokéStops and Gyms in your surrounding communities.
I’ve seen Aaron’s answer, I’ll be truthful and whilst I respect the answer is correct in a Wayfarer setting, it’s incorrect in a Community Ambassador one. Because the company told us this would not happen. But the issue here is perhaps more with the Community Team than the Wayfarer one, so I’ll pursue this further over on that side.
Daily Pokemon Go sync happens after the daily map sync. You need to wait for tomorrow’s map sync in order to see yesterday’s Pokemon Go sync, as the Pokemon Go details on the map are always delayed by (last time I checked) 22 hours.
@theproffy I would recommend seeing if you can raise this issue with anyone from the Niantic team who deals with CAs, as I think the response to this from wayfarer team / Aaron is against what campsites are supposed to be.
IMHO, campsites should become protected spaces where pois in them cannot be removed or edited unless specifically requested by the Com Ambassadors or Wayfarer Ambassadors that oversee those locations.
If grief like this continues, it will damage community campsites and lead to less players in safe and trusted locations, which is the entire point of them.
