Removed Wayspot – Farverigt plankekunstværk – Møllegade 35, Herning

When submitting a Wayspot Appeal, make sure to include as much of the following information as possible:

  • Wayspot Title: Farverigt plankekunstværk – Møllegade 35, Herning
  • Location (lat/lon): (56.140238, 8.967334)
  • City: Herning
  • Country: Denmark
  • Screenshot of the Rejection Email (do not include your personal information):
  • Additional Information (if any):

This Wayspot was accepted and later removed, but the artwork is still present. It is a permanent outdoor art installation (hand-painted wooden planks fixed to the fence) at (56.140238, 8.967334) with safe pedestrian access via the paved area in front. Although Street View may look residential, this is not a private single-family home—it is by Blå Kors Pensionat Herning (facility). I’m attaching current photos and a link for area context:

Welcome to the forums

It is possible that Niantic will struggle to confirm the location, since after the first image (copied below) of the artwork, none of the other images match to that location.

They do appear to be nearby, but they cannot be matched up to that image. The third image is close, but you didn’t include the artwork in it.

To show location of something that is close to streetview, I recommend taking a series of images that clearly link from streetview to the POI, with the POI is as many of those as possible. Alternatively, you can provide Niantic with a video.

Hello Salixsorbus,

Thanks for the warm welcome and for commenting on the thread

I really appreciate the feedback — I’m new to the forum, so it means a lot.

I didn’t know how to post a video here (that’s why I didn’t include one at first), but I’ve now uploaded it to YouTube and can share it via the link. I hope that works.

That looks excellent. Shows where the artwork is and shows that the ground in front of is not SFPRP (single-family private residential property) given the parking.

That leaves one concern - the boundary that the artwork is on. What is on the other side of that boundary?

If the other side of that boundary is SFPRP, then this artwork is ineligible even though it is on the non-SFPRP side. This can be frustrating, but it is how SFPRP is treated.

Thanks for the reply, Salixsorbus — I appreciate the help.

I also have this photo of the area, but I’m not sure if it helps.

That building just has the look of being a private garage. If it is business premises, it is eligible. the status of that white building is critical.

Thanks for the reply — I’ll leave it up to Niantic to decide. I don’t think I can provide any more context about the area.

Thanks for the appeal, @Binbong1! We have taken another look, but stand by our decision to retire this Wayspot.
