Thank you for all the answers.
You dont even need to spoof to submit unless its more than 10km away from any wifi/data signal. I usually just take multiple photo during the trip and submit everything when i return and get data
Hey @I3ackwhale ,
Your suspension did not originate from Wayfarer. Therefore, we are unable to assist you. Kindly reach out to Pokémon GO support for more information.
Best,
Even if the GPS was poor it would have got you to the general location then as you should for all nominations you move the pin manually…
This is just my opinion but I don’t see Niantic giving 10 year suspension for a lapse in judgement, but for maintained abuse of the system.
Fortunately, Niantic have confirmed that the suspension wasn’t from wayfarer, so the suggestion that it was from spoofing GPS in order to submit eligible wayspots at the correct locations has already been disproved.
I’m also a little curious as to how GPS drift can mean someone feels they need to spoof GPS to submit wayspots, since the GPS would have to drift by over 10km, and I’m not sure that can happen anywhere, but since that has been shown to not be the entire truth, trying to unpick that claim doesn’t feel necessary.
I’d be willing to bet this is exactly why they were banned; it was just the PoGO team that issued the ban for spoofing as opposed to the Wayfarer team for policy violations. Although given the length of the ban, I would suspect they were spoofing for other reasons as well.
Please, @NianticAaron , since there’s nothing we can do on Wayfarer, could you close this discussion?
