Requesting removal of POI that has permanently closed and no longer exists

  • Wayspot Title: Bruno’s Pizza

  • Location (lat/lon): 40.427326,-86.917744

  • City: West Lafayette

  • Country: United States

  • Screenshot of the Rejection Email (do not include your personal information):

  • Additional Information (if any):
This is what it looked like on google streetview in 2023. As you can see the location still existed then

However, as of the latest streetview image, March 2026, this location no longer exists and is now part of a larger construction project

These two images are of the same street and address, but 3 years apart, showing that the store no longer exists there. In fact, when searching up Bruno’s Pizza on Google Maps, the 254 Brown St store no longer appears as an option because it has been removed.

Welcome to the forum!

Are these the correct coordinates? I don’t see a Bruno’s Pizza Wayspot here. Or a “Brown Street”.

There is a Bruno’s Pizza Wayspot at 40.422347,-86.902724 - is that the one?

I tried to find some proof that this location at 212 Brown St. has closed to help your appeal.

Checking on the submit map (I am awake now) this appears to be gone. The submit map shows wayspots in real time, while the wayfarer map has to sync to update.

It is possible staff have acted on this appeal already, or it is possible that the removal had already been processed before they received your report, which would have resulted in your report being rejected.

That may be the more accurate coordinates I’m not sure. I clicked on copy pin coordinates for the wayspot and that’s what I got. Also thanks for the help! Does that mean now I’ll just wait for the wayfarer map to update to see thar the POI has already been removed?

It should disappear in game at the next sync so maybe go check in about half an hour. I am not sure what time the map syncs.

I am not an expert at this stuff, and there is a possibility that I am reading something incorrectly. But that is what I see. Please note that I am not staff, and these tools I am using are third party tools that they do not acknowledge as being accurate.

In my experience, when a stop is removed, the in game map will update first, and then Wayfarer will reflect the change the next time it syncs after that. So it might take a couple days to be gone in Wayfarer.

That’s interesting, thank you all for the help! I see a new gym that replaced the ineligible POI, but the gym that should be gone is still on the map. I was wondering if yall know how long does it take for the in-game map to be fully updated?

Which Map? The Wayfarer Map at https://wayfarer.nianticlabs.com/new/mapview usually updates around the same time every day, but I haven’t seen evidence that it updated today.

The Submit map in the Web Submit form at https://wayfarer.nianticlabs.com/new/submit shows Wayspots in real time, but may not reflect their status in game correctly.

Campfire continues to show Gyms that have been removed until they haven’t had raids for at least a couple of weeks.

I haven’t played much with the new Pokemon Go Map to see how often it updates or if it is real time: https://pokemongo.com/en/map

Today’s in game has happened, I had a new pokestop approved three blocks away (from my present location), email dated 5 hours ago, that is now visible.

Thanks for the appeal, @Grn1! We have taken another look, and we have already moved the Wayspot to the correct location.
