Additional Information:

I am requesting the restoration of 10 Wayspots that were recently removed/rejected as ‘low-quality objects.’ I believe this is an error in classification.

  1. Proof of Official Status: I have attached a photo of the permanent Brook Hollows Information Board (The Lawns entrance). It explicitly highlights this project, stating: “Can you find the Rolleston Eagles? The ‘Spread Eagle’ symbol can be found on the Mosley family crest. According to local legend you can still find Eagles in Brook Hollows, hiding in the trees. As you walk round the woods, see if you can find them?
The 10 Rolleston Eagles all have names. Which is your favourite?.” This proves the carvings are a sanctioned, professional community asset, not temporary or generic decor.

  2. Cultural & Historical Heritage: The eagle is the heraldic symbol of the Mosley family crest, the historic residents of Rolleston Hall. These hand-carved sculptures were specifically commissioned to celebrate this local heritage within the woodland they established.

  3. Unique Artistry: These are not mass-produced items. Each of the 10 eagles is a unique, large-scale wood carving integrated into the natural environment. They perfectly meet the criteria for ‘Visual Art’ and ‘A Great Place for Exploration.’

Evidence Attached:

  • Photo of the official Trail Information Board
  • example of the Large Wooden Eagle Commissioned Sculpture
  • Handful of geo tags to support the legitimacy
here is my rejection email i sadly received today
It is also worth mentioning i successfully updated The location for “swoop” by submitting geo tags within the last 7 days working with the wayfarer team.

I am happy to provide further information- they are quite remarkable in person & I hope i have made this job easy  - Thank you.

As kindly suggested in the comments I will also attach a handful of the geo tags for “Thor”, “Sky Warrior”, “Swoop”, “Thunderbird” & “Hawkeye” which i have to hand. I hope this adds another layer of legitimacy to this request - Please note the coordinates may deviate slightly from the submissions due to the above foliage - but they will be very accurate !

Hello and Welcome @g16lay

The email with the list of reasons at the start is normally a result of someone reporting a wayspot.

The 3 you have shown do look similar.

We frequently recommend that people take geotagged photos of the wayspot they are appealing to show that it exists and is at that location.

thanks for replying! I considered that - But it wasnt specifically called out so i didnt want to go to that effort at this stage

That being said, i have a handful on my phone with Geo Tags to hand. What if i submitted a couple now with evidence that they are there?

The eagle trail does appear to exist, but the sculptures are the same for each eagle, just the name plaque differing.

If they are really close together around the pond, I can see why they have been flagged as low-quality, even though this is open to interpretation, and having each one as a separate wayspot might be a stretch.

Hey! Thanks for replying - So Brook hollows is very much a lake

The overarching woods is where the 10 Eagles are spread out over - i understand what youre saying about the differences being the plaques- but i think theyre worth individually calling out due to the size , complexity & overall trail they make up - which is very unique

I’d approve these in a heartbeat, especially with this level of documentation.

Hi

I appreciate it gets dark early at the moment so tricky but I would recommend a photo for each to evidence each is different and the location. Hopefully it will at least stay dry today.

Ah I see you edited to add some photos with tags whilst I wrote the above.

Thank you - that means a lot. I went well out my way to get these recognised in the game & it stings to get warning paired with the removal

Yes, thank you for your advice. Sadly i dont have all of them to hand but heres hoping that proving a large chunk of them will add to the overall picture im painting

I would too, these are beautiful and its a very cool way to mark a trail.

I hope you get these resolved @g16lay because these look awesome

I had another look - it’s significantly larger than I first thought, so these eagles are a decent distance apart.

This makes it vaguely equivalent to a local fitness trail where all the markers are the same except for the number and every single one is a wayspot.

Hello @g16lay ,

This area is heavily abused to manipulate the gameboard. We need geotagged photos for each of the removed Wayspots confirming their location before we can restore them.

Thanks,

no problem. I will provide asap. Are you satisfied with the 5 i have currently provided? If that format is okay

You may be better off with an app that watermarks the photo with the GPS locations. It has been posted in other threads, so hopefully someone can do that here. A problem with your images to my mind is that your GPS data is separated from the picture and I wouldn’t myself consider these to be geotagged.

Cheers pal

We have had no official statement that Niantic accepts the printed stamp if the photo as they receive it is not geo tagged itself. I have set this topic to “following” to see if it can be determined if they do.

Please reach out to support using this link and provide the geotagged images.

Hi Aaron,

Unsure what to use for the drop down “removal request” - the form feels like what someone might use to take down POI’s rather than reinstate?
