No idea why it was removed.
When I look at the coordinates, the location is a single family private residential property, that is not allowed.

I disagree about this being SFPRP. There is a telegraph pole here which has a trail marker on it.
Streetview history shows it has been there consistently since 2021 and the telegraph pole is in the pavement. I just can’t see what the trail marker is.

The TPT does have a lot of links into it and is not a simple trail
The main TPT is the mauve route which doesn’t go through this area.
But NCN 67 in the second image is very nearby. And it looks as though the walk, cycle trust is promoting that as part of TPT.
Can you provide an up to date photo of the sign on the pole.
If it is NCN (67) then this is indicating that this is how you get to NCN 67
One of the wayspots I submitted, Trans Pennine Trail near the Red Lion in Thorpe Hesley (53.460454,-1.436879), clearly shows that a tentacle of the TPT goes down this road.
That’s what I thought I was seeing on the submission.

The location given is maybe a couple of meters away from the telegraph pole. I can accept that without thinking it abuse.
The telegraph pole is in the pavement. Admittedly, the very inside edge, but still in the pavement tarmac.
Hopefully my pictures show that the marker is not in the private residence. As far as I’m aware, telegraph poles delivering phone lines to residential homes in the UK are always on public property, usually, but not always, on the pavements.
If we need to update the coordinates then I’m happy to stand next to the pole and give an accurate reading.

Sometimes, people make abusive removal reports, specifically for gyms, in order to get the gym recalculated. Either because they hope it appears somewhere more convenient for them or because they specifically don’t like where it is.
I can’t guarantee this removal report was abusive, but since the trail marker exists and is eligible, there is no apparent reason for the removal.
Hopefully Scopely Explore reverse the removal of the wayspot. Unfortunately, they won’t reverse the recalculation of the gym, because that is nothing to do with wayfarer even though it is caused by abusing wayfarer, and Scopely Explore do not have a solution for the successful abuse (an abusive gym removal report successfully moves the gym even if the removal is reversed).
Following the post from @NianticAaron, I checked the Submission map (as this is more up-to-date than the wayfarer map).
This wayspot has returned, but it will probably only be a pokestop as two nearby wayspots are the gyms (Eddie’s Park (53.458506,-1.437732) and The Red Lion (53.460315,-1.437101))

I’m going by previous actions when gym-wayspots have been removed and then the wayspot reinstated.
LOL, that was a redundant question and a bad attempt at being funny.
Wayfarer has no control whatsoever over how games utilize a Wayspot.
I know and understand why, but I still wish Scopely Explore could find a way to handle abusive gym removals better when the wayspot get restored but the gym has moved.
We have other stronger measures in place to dissuade such behavior. Eitherway, the gameboard is fluid and subject to change.
Other players probably won’t see the impact of the stronger measures, but the placement of the gym is extremely visible to all players, so they would see the impact of moving it back to where it was.
Even though this would be a weaker measure, it would be more visible.
Apart from wayspots being moved/removed, there is no other mechanism for gym placement to be fluid. Describing the gameboard as fluid in this regard is a little misleading
