Is there a way to review others local submissions (to me) without having to click through every single submission around the country?
Hi and welcome to the forum! Not sure how local you are suggesting, but generally speaking the system is designed for impartiality - it is intentional that you get both nominations from a broad play area and country-wide ones, and not those closest to you first. You will see local nominations occasionally, but you can’t choose. Think of it as moving other people’s queues forward so that they can review your nominations in exchange.
The other consideration is also that if we were only reviewing nominations in a small local area, they would likely run out very fast.
Also, some of those more distant nominations may be upgrades which send reviews to a wider area in order to speed up the voting process.
Ok thank you that makes sense. I was just not sure if I could help approve a stop if I have not been to it. The one I was viewing I wanted to make sure it was safe.
We can’t really go to the places where a nomination is, as we only have 20 minutes to complete a review before it times out and we get a new one.
With reviewing, you have to use your best judgment with the info you have been provided, and any additional info that you may find. You may want to look over the How to Review Wayspots section in the help center to get a better understanding of how to review without having to be at the place that is nominated.
There is no such expectation in reviewing - with the absolute majority of nominations you are going to get to review, you will not have been to this exact specific spot. Review areas are quite large. As suggested above, use the context the submitter has given you as well as built-in map and Street View tools, and any other external information that can help you, and don’t hesitate to ask here if you have doubts. Good luck!
