I tried submitting a rock garden in my area but it was rejected. I appealed but rejected again for not having a sign that says its a rock garden. Unfortunatley it doesn’t have a sign the name of the rock garden. How should I proceed?
Open space usually require certain anchor to represent it. Is there anything that can be used for that? Otherwise it might not be considered as proper rock garden
Hello @ian3211001
There is no simple equation rock garden = eligible. It is the case with all nominations that you need to make a case as to why this meets one of the criteria of a great place to explore, exercise or socialise.
Can you provide the full nomination please:
Both photos, all the text and if you are ok with it the location.
What was the original rejection reasons and the appeal info.
Besides the rock garden itself, no but there is 4 of them near each other.
This just looks like some landscaping. For something to be a wayspot, it must be more than that. Per Niantic Wayfarer :
Must meet at least one of the three eligibility criteria
- A great place for exploration
- A great place for exercise
- A great place to be social with others
Sometimes it can help to think whether you would bring a friend who doesn’t play any of these games to this location. Just being a place where it would be safe to play phone games is not meeting criteria.
I think having “players” used in the term could be changed for a future nomination.
Try the term “passers” or “locals” That’s what terms I use to refer to players playing the game
This is a great point, that even if this nomination were eligible, that there should be no game references in the description. That would be a rejection reason even for the best point of interest to nominate.
It also does not help to mention any game play reasons in the supporting section. That section should be used to explain how the nomination meets any of the criteria of a great place to explore, exercise, or be social, and anything you need to point out for reviewers to help them believe what you say is true and verify location.
