Sculpture no longer exists at location

When submitting a Wayspot Appeal, make sure to include as much of the following information as possible:

  • Wayspot Title: Winter Sculpture

  • Location (lat/lon): -31.940453, 115.834195

  • City: West Leederville

  • Country: Australia

  • Screenshot of the Rejection Email (do not include your personal information):

  • Additional Information (if any):

This kinetic sculpture no longer exists at this location.

Please remove this wayspot.

Since this wayspot is of a random piece of art inside a building (which I don’t think should ever have been accepted, but that’s a different problem), you may need to provide evidence that it no longer exists using photographs from inside the building.

I cannot see that an exterior view of anything is going to be any proof.

This is the Wayspot photo, for anyone curious.

The pinned location is inside the offices of a travel agency (Kings Tours) who did not agree to a current GPS photo being taken inside their office. The submitted GPS photo is taken outside in the laneway as nearest as possible to the pinned location.

I appreciate that this not the “ideal” evidence for Niantic to make an informed decision to remove this wayspot

I just wouldn’t ask. Would just walk in, take the picture, and walk out.

I doubt something inside a venue can be removed with evidence that is is not outside the venue!

Would need some sort of proof its gone from inside - maybe their website has current pictures of the inside for example?

That’s awfully convenient. So you basically have no proof other than “trust me bro”.

Either take a picture of the inside or tell the company to file a removal request themselves. I see zero reason for Niantic to remove this based on what you’ve shown here.

How do you even check if the sculpture is no longer exist ? You need to a better convincing evidence than “you can trust me” statement. Just because certain wayspot is not accesible to you, doesnt mean it need to be removed.

Thanks for the appeal, @BunchOfCarrots Due to insufficient evidence, we’re unable to remove the Wayspot in question. If you have additional evidence to share, like geotagged images or photosphere, please submit a new appeal with additional information, and we’ll take another look.

Sometimes I have made a place of business aware that a Pokestop exists via email, and explained how they can reach out to Niantic to have it removed if they so desire when I am not comfortable with walking in and trying to take photos or find the right person to actually speak to. I am sure that you would be able to reach out to a place like this that way.
