I used to have to use them to get a decision. Now I don’t. Every now and then I will throw some on some nominations I want to be first on, but mostly, they just sit now.
I would have had over a hundred except for a few recent experiments. Will let you know when I get there … assuming I remember
To be honest, I think my banked upgrades is relatively small compared to people like @Trollfarer. I only recently started banking up upgrades this year, but last year, I spent them like crazy. Ever since the Wayfarer Challenge, I hardly needed to use them, because my turnaround times have been crazy fast.
I started in December 2023. I have 10 available (will likely get to 11 today, as I’m almost to the threshold and I’m waiting for agreements to come through) and I’ve used 12 so far.
I have had very few upgrades, and it feels like a very low number of agreements vs reviews (and yes I know I’ve not done many reviews overall either).
Whenever I used to try to do a lot of reviews, eg over the pandemic when not much else I could do, I got cooldowns all the time, so now I do like, 5, 10 reviews at a time and then stop.
I think there is just not the scope in my area for making hundreds of new waypoints… and I dont travel around tonnes. Most of my gameplay is in quite a smallish area and although Ive done the odd bike ride/walk out further to submit new things, its not a constant hobby of mine. I find so much of the effort is wasted due to rejections (often further out, the only thing to submit is trail markers), so that stops me.
And honestly? I’m trying to give back what I put in, so if I’m submitting, I review, if I’m not, I might have a review break.
