Will a sponsored stop block a community approved stop from showing up in game if they are in the same cell? I was under the impression that sponsored stops were an exception and that’s how you could have more than one POI in a cell.
Maybe yes, and maybe no. We have seen sponsored stops suppress otherwise eligible Wayspots from being used as Pokestops, but there seems to be a proximity factor as to when this will happen. I think around 10m, but am not sure of that.
Is there a specific Wayspot you would like us to look at for you?
This is 100% rumour and assumptions from me so hopefully someone can give a more definite answer.
My belief was that if a Sponsored Wayspot was added to an already occupied cell then it would get 2 spots in 1 cell.
If a standard wayspot is added in a cell that already has a sponsored cell the new spot will not appear unless the sponsored is removed.
Is any of this true?
Mind you, I still have 2 local cells that each have 2 standard pokestops (No Sponsor) with 1 of them due to a location edit recent enough that the “location edit to stack” should not be a thing so either the “rules” are not always acted on or there are more rules that haven’t been worked out yet…
