This is placed at the 50 yard line of a high school football field. It’s too far to reach from the public area so I can’t report it in game

There are several ways to report things like this besides in game. For this one, I would probably report directly from the Wayfarer Map at https://wayfarer.nianticlabs.com/new/mapview
Other methods are using help chat at https://wayfarer.nianticlabs.com/new/help or one of the forms linked at the top of the forum:

Thank you! I’d visited the map before but didn’t lol close enough to realize Iwe could report from there!
There is a report button on the right - see the bottom right of this image if using the add-ons, but it looks completely different in the native interface so please see the post from @elijustrying after this one.
Oh good grief, I am never going to remember I have add-ons that change the interface that much when trying to help 
That is exactly why I didn’t try to show where the report function is! I can never remember which are wayfarer tools and which are native either.
