Over the past year I’ve been working on adding in submissions around my town, and I have never previously had issues with submissions being accepted or declined within a few weeks (usually 2). But with this latest batch of submissions, they have been sitting in the “voting” stage for over 3 months now (submitted March 1st)
I have asked everyone in our community to get onto Wayfarer and review stops and vote for them, but I have exhausted those resources. Is there anything else I can do to help them go through? Or is it possible that they are bugged.
Here is a list of all stops that seem to be “stuck”, if I need to give more info, I can.
Did you nominate a lot in 1 area as it has been seen that in this case the process will put 1 through Voting then when that is completed then the next will be added.
To be honest, very few of these submissions look like “slam dunks.” That means they are probably collecting an even amount of yes and no votes which keeps them in voting longer.
You may want to check out this post. I have been noticing the same thing in my area. I think something broke in the rural voting help around mid February. 60 days still in voting- What changed in February?
Definitely understand with the benches- I’ve had mixed luck with them but I try to do a little research on the subject of the memorials- and usually include a well worded description with them. There aren’t a lot of other submissions in the area either, nor things to submit.
I know at the time there seemed to be a bug with wayfarer where you couldn’t use the spacebar in the description or titles when writing them- so maybe they got coincided with that issue…
Could be a common theme with just me too- I applied for community ambassador and never heard back
I would tend to reject them outright. Unless of historical importance with evidence that is linked and easy to review.. But I look at the pattern and design to begin with when I look at benches and with these - they all seem to be OOTB purchased through an official body.
And we can see City of Spearfish run a strong memorial bench program. $4,000.. Dollars each. Installed seven last year. you can no longer choose where to put them. The city now decides. And once you “sponsor” a bench it belongs to the city still.
The city does a much better sponsor a tree for 600… Better bargain and contributes to greening. The city has restructured its memorial program with a focus on the trees.
My point here is most of these, I suspect (but with no evidence), literally will fail the POI nomination and review criteria. i suspect some reviewers probably did not know or even care - to be fair.
@TlM03D so clearly. I am not surprised a few failed. I am also surprised you did not get pinged for some form of abuse with that many. Were they all famous / historical people? I would love to see a sample of the text. I stay away from them so am really interested.
Now re the delay sounds odd. Maybe all of yours are in the human review queue not ML so taking longer. Or less players in your area so that means less local reviewers so longer to process through the queue.
I have just started submitting again and it seems about normal. Not ML quick. But processing through at a speed dependent on nomination type. But 3 months seems long. If I see things taking a bit longer I will always review a few more to help bring the queue down. Don’t know if it helps but I like to think it does…
I had a look online at the whole Spearfish City google maps thing. Looks like you have a fair few places of interest. Hope you got them nailed too as POIs…
Good luck though!!! And welcome to the community. Appreciate you getting the brain working
