Submitting a wayspot in the same cell of a wayspot that was taken down

Our community recently had a gym that was taken down because the wayspot was a pond fountain (forgot the term for it) which violates the rules for a wayspot.

My question is, there’s a community firepit for the same apartment complex that is next to the pond which I’m sure would be in the same cell as the one that was removed. If I apply for this firepit to be a wayspot and it is approved will it become a wayspot in that cell now that the other wayspot was removed? The wayspot that was removed is still showing up in wayfarer as “in game” so want to be sure before submitting this one and it becomes a powerspot.

I’ve seen a pond aerator disappear in a local park, and a new pokestop has taken its place, however the old wayspot (pond aerator) is not in-game anymore.

So I’m curious what will happen in your case. You can always just submit to see what will happen. Though I do think a fire pit can be difficult to get accepted (I often consider them good enough for a place to be social)

I assume that it still showing in wayfarer is just a timescale thing.

If it has been removed I would expect the Wayfarer Map to catch up sometime soon and there should be no problem nominating something else.
