The AI falsely mistakes it as shooting range

Wayspot Title: Kobyliska strelnice
City: Prague
Country: Czech Rpeublic

Hi all. I would like for someone to take a look on this.
Firstly, my nomination was denied for it to be as duplicate. Which is not true, as nothing is on this place.
After appealing, i got reasoning that its a shooting range and its invalid spot
But this was a shooting range during ww2. Now, its a historical place/National monument where people can visit free of charge. It has a quote on the wall reminding us what strugle generation before us met and a lovely park/green spots where families can attend during ceremonies etc.

Thank you for the answer!

Those are some pictures of it

Hi,

It does seem to be a duplicate, there’s a wayspot of the same name at 50.131682, 14.463574:

Perhaps that wayspot doesn’t show in PoGo, it is present in Ingress.

That looks like quite a sombre and moving place, I found a brief history of it in Wikipedia - Kobylisy Shooting Range - Wikipedia. It may be that there’s some scope for additional wayspots, for example that third photograph with the inscription doesn’t seem to be a wayspot currently.

Thank you for your reply! So the main problem is duplicate for the name? And how is possible that its not visible in the PoGO?

Do you think if I will create a wayspot nomination for the inscription it will not be marked as duplicate?

It does appear that it ought to show from looking at the L17 S2 cells on iitc. I can think of three reasons it might not show. It could have not synced in yet to Pokemon Go, although Ingress usually syncs after Pogo, but there could have been a delayed Pogo sync. There could be a Wayspot within that 20m circle that is in Pokemon Go. Or, the property manager could have requested removal of the Pokestop, but not the Wayspot.

You can check for existing Wayspots not in Pokemon Go with the toggle on in the nomination map screen, but it only works when you are right there.

I am not certain about this. I was writing a reply that this could be considered a sensitive area and rejected for that reason. I didn’t post when I saw the other response. Sometimes the appeal statements aren’t exactly why the nomination was rejected, but in this case, it seems like it would be a duplicate anyway if you tried to resubmit it.

In the appeal reason i got, it says that its a shooting range. I will try nominating the inscription instead. Thank you all for responses!

Not relevant to the nomination in question, but… this is a great list and I’d like to name a fourth: Could be sponsored in Ingress only. (Again: I don’t think this portal is sponsored, just that I like lists like this, and thought of another for it.)

oh, i have never encountered a sponsored ingress location - ty!

I did wonder if it’s a sensitive area, but the wayspot appears in Ingress.

Your picture has been added to the wayspot.

Hi All, thank you for the answers! May I ask one more question? If its visible in Ingress but not in PoGo, os there a way to get it into a PoGo? I understand we have some rules about how many waypoints in cell we can have. But I also read, that sometimes cultural/national places like this one would be preffered over other. In this place we have many waypoints for playgrounds or “bug hotels”. It would be really nice to have some normal spots, where adult without kids wouldnt feel weird

What do you have against bug hotels?! /sarcasm

Unfortunately once a first Pokéstop has been made for the cell, it’s the first one that was in that’s here to stay. It’s not Ingress preventing it from syncing in though, it’s really about Pokémon GO’s inclusion rules.

You always have it as a backup if something were to happen to the object the first wayspot is representing and if it were removed. Also, it’s now possibly eligible for a Power Spot, which is its own separate way of appearing in Pokémon GO.
