The Małaszewicze Duże problem, Poland

The subject of my post is Małaszewicze Duże, Poland.

As someone who was grown up in this area and was the first to reach the level that allowed waypoints to be created, I definitely understand the needs of local players.

The number of Pokéstops is currently sufficient for us, considering the village as a whole.

There are only two issues I’d like to address:

  1. Players have a rather long journey to the nearest Pokéstop that receives a Showcase. To do so, they have to travel to Terespol or Zalesie (8 km away), or detour around Małaszewicze (3-4 km away). I suggest that one of the Pokéstops in this village (e.g., “Świetlica wiejska” or “Krzyż przy ul. Lipowej”) be given the showcase option.

  2. Małaszewicze Duże’s biggest problem right now is the Świetlica wiejska. The community center (Świetlica wiejska) is the heart of the village; all major events take place here. On the one hand, it should be a gym, but we have two other gyms very close by, so that’s not necessary. Another issue is that there are two other wayspots nearby: a playground with outdoor gym (Plac zabaw i siłownia na świeżym powietrzu) and a soccer field (Kartoflisko do gry w piłkę nożną). Both are not a pokestops.
One of these spots sometimes appears as a Dynamax spot, but rarely.

Because the community center is where players spend most of their time, and this is also where players from the village spend most of their time—if not inside the building, then on the surrounding benches or on the playground. This is where we have the opportunity to concentrate several Pokéstops nearby so that during an event, we can place a few lures there, making the game more enjoyable for players.

Additionally, the wayspot “Playground and outdoor gym” (Plac zabaw i siłownia na świeżym powietrzu) can be broken down into two: “playground” and “outdoor gym.” In my opinion, the playground should become a Pokéstop, similar to the playing field, and the outdoor gym could become a Pokéstop or Dynamax point. “Świetlica wiejska”, as the most important point, could then be a gym, but as I mentioned, it’s not necessary.

Then, for example, the playground could get a showcase. I think it’s a great idea.

Let me know what you think. I think this change is very much needed to make life easier for local players. Especially with summer approaching and more and more people spending time outdoors near the Świetlica.

Welcome to the forum.

First, do you understand the algorithm that the community has discovered is being used to decide where Pokestops and gyms go live? If not, check out this article: https://pokemongohub.net/post/article/comprehensive-guide-s2-cells-pokemon-go/

As far as Showcase stops go, this is not a Wayfarer issue. You can try to access Pokemon Go support and explain that they need to add more Showcase stops. They have never added any since the beginning.

Welcome to the forums

It is not possible to get additional pokestops inside occupied cells, which is the problem with the playground. Unfortunately, it is also not possible to create a showcase, as this was done as a one-off exercise a while back which has not been repeated. In places where the showcase wayspot has been removed, no new showcase has appeared to replace it.

You might want to read through Tips for Rural Nominators to get some ideas for additional wayspots.

To illustrate the S2 cells, all three of these Wayspots for the field, the playground, and the building are in the same L17 S2 cell, and only one thing can be a pokestop or gym in a single L17 cell.

(I always try to put a note when I mention cells that pinning something where it does not exist just to get it into an empty cell is abuse. It is obvious that you have not done that, but if this gets shared elsewhere, I like for that comment to be on the post.)
