I know takeaways dont usually get any sort of acceptance, but I figured a winner of takeaway of the hear a few years ago and the daughter being s locally famous tik toker might have been interesting enough
Will add, I put her tik tok channel in the supporting info, thetes acrually videos involving the shop, but I couldnt didnt have the time to hunt for the videos lol
A tik tok influencer would hold no importance if i was reviewing this.

Its for uniqueness was the point I was putting, how many takeaways or restaurants can say their child id fairly famous influencer? Wr always talk about things tjat make something unique dont we? If someone was to ask me “whats different abojt this takeaway from any other” and I said the daughter is a tik token with a large following and the takeaway has been included ina few videos, most people would think that was cool

And it is probably harder to find someone who does not have a family member not on Tik Tok etc etc And what is famous these days

I feel like you were intentionally missing the point of what he was saying? Whether something should or should not be a poi isn’t about your personal gripes with tiktok. They are points of interest for the community which includes local businesses that have community significance

Wayfarer requires you to use your best judgment. Literally anyone can have a Tik Tok account. My best judgment is that the owner’s relationship to a social media influencer doesn’t make this place more interesting.

The community significance here from what I can observe based on the submission is that it “Won local awards for the food”. I think if you are reviewing POIs with the mindset of “the only social gathering place for miles and miles” you are rejecting the vast majority of POIs which should not be rejected. This is a game to gather with your community members and have fun, why is this a collectively shared mindset on this forum that we must find an excuse to reject something which clearly meets the criteria set by Niantic?

I nominated a specialist record store run by someone who’s been on TV as an expert in music and records, that was also rejected for generic business 
Seems wayfarer doesn’t care if something is specialist or the owner is famous in their field

It’s a hard case to make.
If you are trying to make the case that it counts under exploration because of the uniqueness of the place.
So focussing on the place is best. If the tik tok appearances were relevant to demonstrating its fame then that could be relevant but it’s not strong. And it could be in the supplementary.
I certainly don’t see it relevant to the description of the place which you are sayingthis worth going to for the food.
IMO: Takeaways are almost always going to be a Reject for me. The only criteria that I would consider would be explore and for me that would need to be something major and not just because it has connections to someone that some people might claim to be famous (or even someone proper famous).
Every single take away I see seems to have some sort of award. They seem to have them for the Town, the County, North / South of the country and the whole Country. Then they are awards from different “companies”. Voted by Review Site, Voted by Local Newspaper. Voted by “This is ”.
Whilst at the local pub in the past I use to see a previous World Snooker Champion and more recently someone involved in a famous TV quiz show. Makes no difference to it as a nomination.
I don’t even think someone mega famous would swing it for me (even someone like 1 of the forums Ambassadors)

Thats a but disingenuous. Yes anyone can have a tik tok account, but theres a difference between joe bloggs with 0.videos, reposts some stuff and hides his fsce so he can make outrageous comments, and someone who has 62 thousand followers.
Popularity in terms of social media following can also be attributed outside the subject of the video (personality, shock factor, etc.) and paid advertisement is commonplace. To ensure the subject of the video highlights the attributes of the point of interest, I’m curious to see the content.
I personally would give it a try if the complete circumstances makes it a local POI.

As for only place for miles and miles. Well Niantic want us to have a bit of lee way here. Because in the big smoke that fast food place is dime a dozen. But in the boondooks it may be the only food place. Now it also has another meaning. And one that can be leveraged as appropriate.
Here is the key @bennyklaus - prove to us how it meets the criteria. The role of the nominator is to make a reviewers life so easy by doing all the hard work. You have stated that I - no - you have stated that collectively those here are wrong and that this clearly meets the criteria. Prove it. Because just because you are stating it does not make it so.
And Gazza asks of us many questions around nominations and that is good because it makes us think. As was done here.
For me - it is a generic fast food. The Tik Tok is neither here nor there. What could sway me is the award… Now @gazzas89 tell us more

A local restaurant (not a generic chain) that has significance in the community which was stated in the description is absolutely eligible. I’d like to hear your reasoning for how you can say that a local restaurant like this is ineligible. Here is the official eligibility criteria page.
You are here to judge whether it fits into Niantic’s criteria, and nominators do NOT owe you anything. They are volunteers, filling out the submission properly with the correct, relevant information is all that they should need to do. If you’re going to be this pedantic about submissions, I’m sure you would even reject the examples Niantic put themselves. As this is Niantic’s game, their say and examples of what they want in their game is final, you do not get to impose your own criteria onto nominations.

Yes I certainly thought a record store would be part of explore - in the same way that trying new foods is something many people enjoy, I think music fans like to spend time looking at records and finding unique artists or different editions of albums, and they enjoy the artwork in addition to the music too. It sounds like a collectors dream kind of a store. Ah well. Business = generic business 99%-100% of the time right?
Back to the topic, I don’t thjnk there’s anything ineligible about a takeaway. I think it would need to play more on the food - maybe mention their speciality dishes? But I do think winning awards and being linked to a popular influencer helps to demonstrate that its a good place to explore as well
