This tiny library was rejected as a wayspot nomination and again through appeal. The reasoning is that there are grammatical or spelling errors or inaccuracies in the description, which is not the case. Tiny libraries are specifically mentioned on the criteria page for wayspot nominations. There are other tiny library wayspots in the game both in my city and other cities. While there is another wayspot nearby at the park itself, this is not a duplicate, is in a safe location, on public property, and accesible by anyone who walks by. All the photos are originally taken through the app for the nomination. I’m having trouble understanding why straightforward, well intentioned nominations that meet the criteria like this one did are not being accepted. Thanks!
Hi and welcome! “This would make a great addition to the area’s wayspots” is a reference to Wayfarer, when descriptions should be neutral/ just focus on the object or location nominated. Imo
Welcome to the forum.
“Wayspots” is a game specific term, and as the appeals team explained, game specific terms are not allowed in the description. It is usually a Pokemon Go reference that trips people up, but “Wayspot” has nothing to do with a Little Free Library in real life, so it is inappropriate, too.
Let me point you to the Description guidelines here: https://wayfarer.nianticlabs.com/new/help/description-guidelines

Glad you are here. I confirmed the LFL location on Street View, so this should be an easy resubmit. I did want to let you know that it won’t be eligible to be a Pokestop, but would be eligible to be added to the Power Spot pool. I highlight the Pokestop that already exists in that L17 S2 cell.
Why would it not be eligible for a new stop? There are several stops in the same “cell” in so many other locations, so how does this get determined? Additionally, what is the process for submitting it for a power stop - is it the same submission process or different? Thanks
Staff have allowed me to post this topic about cells.
It is possible for a variety of reasons for more than one pokestop or gym to exist in a cell, but it is not possible to submit one and have it go live in an L17 S2 cell that is already occupied.
You cannot submit specifically to be a power spot, but if it is not eligible to be a pokestop or gym because of the L17 S2 cell being occupied, AND if it is 22m from an existing pokestop or gym, they may be added to the pool of wayspots to potentially be used as power spots. It is harder for the community to figure out all the factors that go into the process of specifically which ones are chosen, but it seems that updates to the power spot pool happen around the 4th of each month if they are going to happen.
Everything in this comment is community observation. Niantic does not talk about S2 cells or distance algorithms.
Short story, normally only one wayspot per cell can become pokestop/gym, other unused wayspot in that same cell might become powerspot (assuming its more than 22m from nearest wayspot)
Sponsored wayspot doesnt follow this rule
It can be eligible to be accepted into Wayfarer, but would not become a pokestop in Pokemon Go due to density restrictions.
Thanks all - I resubmitted with the tips given and it was accepted as a new wayspot - maybe it will become a power spot, we’ll see!
