I just don’t see how. I even asked on reddit and everyone said it should have been accepted. The sign is handmade except for the printing of course. It’s also part of the trail system of the city in which there are only 4 trails, which means this is a very important place for all cyclists. According to Wayfarer eligibility criteria, trail markers and trailheads are eligible because they encourage outdoor exercise and exploration. The trail is also very well maintained by the community and it has been that way for over a decade now.

I maybe mis-understanding as I’m in the UK but using google translate it looks like “No Motorcycles” and “Private Property”.
It does not look like a Trail Marker more of a “Rules Sign” that does not look eligible.
Do you have anything official websites showing the trails? Any named signs? etc
You are now in the correct place to ask for advice, the problem with Reddit is that there is no moderation from Staff. I could state anything on Reddit and nothing would be said, here we have Ambassadors and staff that will correct / remove any such fake information.

It is a Trail Marker. At the top you can see “Trilho de BTT” which means “MTB Trail” (MTB is Mountain Biking) and then below that it’s the name of the trail, Penedo Furado. Here’s a link to the trail with photos and videos of it as well as the current state of the trail (active)

The “No Motorcycles” just means that motorbikes can’t ride there otherwise they would damage the trail very quickly and it would be dangerous for bikes and motorbikes to share the same trail. As for private property, it just means that somewhere along the trail it passes private property but the trail itself is in a public park and is available for anyone. The sign itself, which is what I’m trying to nominate as a POI, is very easily accessible by foot, car, bike or any other means of transportation as it can easily be seen on google maps
As I did state, it is possible that it is a translation problem (it was unable to translate everything) but if I saw a sign in the UK that said “No Motorcycles” and “Private Property” I would error on the side of Reject.
This is not to say that this should be rejected, I am just trying to point in directions that could have caused it.
Did the original Rejection happen around 24 hours after nomination? If so it was likely the AI that Rejected otherwise “Local Reviewers” did not see it meeting Criteria.
When you make an appeal you do have to give staff all the reasons why you believe the AI or Local Reviewers got it wrong and Give Evidence otherwise they will not overturn it. An Appeal just saying “It is a trail, Reviewers where wrong” is unlikely to succeed. Did you give the link in the Supplemental Info or in the Appeal?
I notice that you are new to the forums, I am unsure how long you have been reviewing / nominating so I apologise if I am stating things that you already know.
When you have read the forums for a while you see that a lot of the “Why was my nomination rejected” post are due to parts that can be improved by the nominator, either something they didn’t understand or just general error.
If you want more accurate advice I suggest that you post all the photos you used, Title, Description and Supplemental.
Hopefully someone more local can then give you better advice than me.

I understand your first point and I can understand how reviewers could think that but I was hoping niantic wouldn’t otherwise how am I supposed to get this accepted?
No, the original rejection took a while (well, the usual, maybe 3-5 days).
This was what I wrote in my appeal (there were two complaints with the submission at first, so I addressed both).
Gonna address both points of rejection - In relation to being distinct, there’s literally a category for bike trails and bike signs so I don’t believe that’s it, which means they thought it wasn’t permanent but this trail exists for well over 6 years and it’s still very well maintained thanks to the local bike shops and community. It might be a bit niche but sites like TrailForks show this trail and others from the area as well as its current status (which is “All Clear”) and photos and videos of it. - As for unsafe or publicly accessible, it’s obviously publicly accessible, we can see that clearly from the street view so maybe they thought it was unsafe, and to be fair this is a bike trail so it’s not for people to walk on it, however what I’m nominating is the Sign at the start, and this sign sits in a very large “piece of empty land”, for lack of better words, right next to the street, so it’s easily accessible and not dangerous for pedestrians, in fact, this space can gather around 50-100 people without a problem without interfering with cyclists

Yeah, I am new to this forum, I created an account just now but I’ve been reviewing and submitting stuff for over a year. So far I’ve reviewed around 900 nominations and I’ve nominated around 20 POIs.
As for more information, I don’t really think there’s much more to share. I feel like the link I shared of the trail shows what the trail is like (it even has a POV video of the trail showing that it is just a regular trail). I’m going to upload below the other photo I took and a screenshot from google maps showing where the POI is and how it’s visiable from the road.

If Niantic don’t reverse the appeal rejection, I would resubmit with links that show this is a biking trail. These go in the supporting text. You can also explain in the supporting text why this says “no motorbikes” and “private property” and why this doesn’t stop it being eligible.
Reviewers might still reject it, but this gives you a stronger submission when appealing.
It’s funny because, I don’t know if I mentioned, but there are 4 trails there. One is this one, another one I didn’t nominate and the 2 last ones are very close to each other (the start, they then diverge) and so I nominated one of those 2. It’s exactly the same type of sign but with a different trail name and it’s in the middle of the woods unlike this one which is 10 meters from the street yet that one just got accepted.
But yeah, if this one doesn’t get accepted I might try it again but with more info then and send the link too. I also just noticed that there’s a “Bikepark Santo Tirso” in google maps which is where this is so it should give some credibility
