Umm soo... how can i wiev "Cells"?

As far as I know, PokéStops and Gyms can’t be too close together, and there’s a system called “Cells” to check if they’re the right distance. So… which app or website should I use to view the Cells? Where I live, there are PokéStops and Gyms that are suspiciously close.

If you have wayfarer access (I noticed the account from your screenshot is only level 28, so you might need to get that up to 35 first), wayfarer itself has a map that shows all Pokéstops and Gyms (except for sponsored ones). Whilst we’re not allowed to directly link to them, if you search the internet for Wayfarer Tools, you’ll find some tools that can show the cells on that map. If you need help with anything, there’s also the wayfarer discussion discord (which we also can’t link to).

I got the screenshot from a friend who lives in the same area. My own account is above level 35. So I guess there’s no official way to view Cells?

To add to Hank’s comment, the cluster of 4 stops near each other in your screenshot may well just be that things exist in 4 corners of the 4 rectangular cells that are next to each other. There are no proximity rules in Pokémon Go, so stops can be almost on top of each other if they are just either side of the line.

No official way, but the Wayfarer Tools mentioned work with the official map and were developed by a Wayfarer Ambassador to help us, so they are very good.

ohh okay tyy.

In addition sponsored pokestop doesnt follow normal rule and can exist in the same cell. (Niantic doesnt acknowledge s2 cells rule)

How can I tell if a Pokestop is sponsored or not? Or what’s the difference between a regular Pokestop and a sponsored Pokestop?

They are labelled.

If it appears on the wayfarer map Niantic Wayfarer, it is not sponsored. Sponsored wayspots are not part of wayfarer.

Sponsored pokestops/gyms have a “sponsored” text bar showing on them in game (on the screen where you view and spin the photo disc).

They are almost always locations of large corporations, such as Starbucks or Target.

And yes, as mentioned, they don’t appear on the Wayfarer map (although they can be added persistently on your own device).

The only difference is that sponsored stops don’t go through the normal density limits to be added, and that they can’t be upgraded to gyms via the density rules (though they can be created AS gyms).

They also have a pink (i think) stick holding them up on the game map.

Ah, I’ve never seen a tag like that before. I don’t think there are any sponsored PokéStops where I live. The players are practically just me and my friend…

They’re fairly rare. I’ve been working on adding pokestops in my neighborhood, an area of roughly 25 grids in an American suburb, and we have ONE sponsored out of about 150 pokestops. It’s a Starbucks.

I am aware of about 2 sponsored pokestops in a UK city of 600,000 people. I think maybe the US has more than the UK and Japan has lots.
