Recently I requested some waypoints and 2 of them were marked as containing abuse to a group. One of them is a mural with the drawing of a dog, another is a church. There is no abuse/offense in the text/image in any of the requests. I’m very sad to try to collaborate in the creation of an immersive RA map and be punished unfairly because of evaluators trolling the evaluation of waypoints. I prepared to play this month’s events, bought tickets, passes, combos and now I’m on a 30-day suspension penalty for an offense I didn’t commit. I didn’t even receive an email from Niantic Wayfarer informing me of the ban, I found out on the game screen and had to look for the infraction by other means (on the wayfarer website).
So I kindly ask you to remove the undue suspension, since there is no abuse or offense to anyone, the photos and text do not have any offensive content, I ask you to please reevaluate. I’m very sad about all this, my rating on wayfarer was great, I even received a thank you email with a retrospective of my month and my contributions in this period.
The “Abuse” rejection narrative can be flagged for a nomination for any of the following reasons
The photo is not yours (e.g., taken from streetview, found on another website)
The text itself is abusive
The nomination is controversial and likely to be offensive (e.g., a mural of terrorists)
Another nomination was abusive and all of yours have been flagged as a consequence
The wayspot location pin is misplaced
The wayspot is deliberately misrepresented (e..g., on school property but pretending it isn’t)
(there may be others)
Since you say the text and nomination object are not abusive, it could be that you used a third-party photo, that you misplaced the location or that the objects simply don’t exist. You should have one or more emails that provide a little more information.
If you are confortable with sharing complete nomination (photo, title, desc, location, supporting info, etc) we might be able to advise whats wrong. You can get this from nomination email
In the other hand, you can wait for staff to DM you the cause.
That leaves location issues as the main remaining source of abuse. You will need to wait for Niantic staff to comment, but if you want any advice from forum members (and I suspect that when people here have posted on threads like this to confirm that actually nothing was done wrong, this does help), you will need to post details of the offending submissions.
Title, Description, Photos, Location with a screenshot of the location reference in the submission receipt email.
Please note I am suggesting the location as text so that it is easy for people to copy-paste into google. It looks something like 12.3623, -2.894672 and appears under the photos in the submission receipt email.
I am also suggesting a screenshot of this showing it in the email, as sometimes people post a different location into the forums than they used for the wayspot submission, which inevitably causes problems. This isn’t meant to be insulting.
