The in-game map ( if that is what you are referring to) is not the responsibility of Wayfarer but Pokemon Go.
They do occasional updates (I’m not aware of any set pattern) and the information is usually based on Open Street Map (OSM). It often takes months to process the data from OSM before use in game.
My advice is to as soon as possible get OSM updated and make sure that the land use tags are correct. It is a community derived map so reaching out for help and support is best.
If it is just about the wayfarer map then I think the default is google and I am not sure how tgat can be fixed.
If you do a web search for wayfarer tools index you will find some plug ins tgat may help.

Most would but that is not how it works.
The L14 cell already has the maximum amount of Gyms (3) so the only way a new Gym would be created is if 1 of the current gyms was legitimately (with evidence) removed. One the of Pokestops would then be selected at random to replace it.

I have change the title of your post because “roadmap” is a specific term here on the forum to describe the long-term plan for Wayfarer functionality changes. You are speaking about a literal map.
