Viaduct nomination automatically declined - what did I do wrong?

I nominated a viaduct/bridge and it was declined with this message:

This submission was declined by Niantic’s automated process for not adhering to Wayfarer criteria

I would like to know what I did wrong.

Should I try to appeal?
Should I change something and make a new nomination?
Or is this just not a valid Wayspot?

Thank you in advance!

Title:
Jernbaneviadukten fra 1921

Description:

Welcome to the forum

Can you explain how this meets the key criteria - Exploration, Social, Exercise. It needs to strongly encourage at least one of these.

There is also safe pedestrian access to be considered. Can a player stand, staring at their phone, at the precise position of the underpass. Being safe nearby is not sufficient.

I can’t comment on the general eligibility of the submission, but what I can say is that you could focus on the 1921 in your main picture - especially if that’s the main thing about the submission.

I would say that the viaduct/bridge having that 1921 is the main focus of my nomination, yeah. I did take another picture zoomed in on the number, but it felt weird to me that you couldn’t see what structure it was on. If I were to re-submit with a different picture, how zoomed in should it be?

As for safety, you can absolutely stand inside the viaduct and be completely safe. There is the raised sidewalk, obviously, and the “road” is today only used for bicycles. No car (or bigger) traffic.

(once again not commenting on the eligibility because I’m unsure myself)
Check this post for advice on how to take good pictures, I’d try to center it like the example picture shows, maybe a little bit more zoomed out: Some Photo Advice or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Square Aspect Ratio

The machine learning tool works in somewhat mysterious ways. I would try a very slightly closer image with a little less sky in it, but it could well be reacting to the wording rather than the picture.

Of course, even if it gets past the AI, I would suspect that you’ve only about a 50-50 chance to get that location accepted based on what I can see in the photo.

Can highly recommend changing text slightly after getting a ML deny. Every time you resubmit, ideally change everything a bit. Improve picture crop, reword description, clarify eligiblity more in supporting info etc. When you don’t change anything, I’ve noticed that things that went into voting previously got auto-ML denied

Thank you both for the advice. I’ll give myself some time to mull over different wordings and to get a better photo.
