Warning email for "malicious image submission"

Hello all. I have never received a warning prior to this morning when I received an email from niantic telling me I have been flagged and warned for “Malicious image submission.”

Another wayfarer user suggested to me that this could have been triggered from my own photos that I posted online such as Google maps but I cannot rack my brain and recall if I ever cross posted something I took myself. I have posted to Google maps a number of times.

Edit: upon looking at my Google maps image uploads, I have apparently uploaded 5 of my own images to pokemon go as well and likely forgot I posted them publicly or I posted them after I submitted to pokemon go. I genuinely cannot remember as some images range from 2 years ago to 4 months ago.

I have received no follow up or prior email that tells me which image(s) did this and I do not use third person photos when uploading photos to waystops. I am very confused and very concerned. As a photographer, I take great pride in my own work and the uniqueness of my eye from another’s perspective. Any and all help is appreciated in this matter.

Staff will normally start a DM here to discuss issues like this privately. Hoping you get resolution on this.
