Wayspot Appeal: It's Bews Foundation, not BEWS

I’d like to appeal the following:

  • Wayspot Title: BEWS Foundation Conservation and Education Center
  • Location (lat/lon): 43.608742,-116.203312 (roughly)
  • City: Boise, Idaho
  • Country: USA

  • Additional Information (if any): Bews is in all-caps, as if it’s an acronym, but it’s just a surname. Edward and Shirley Bews. Not BEWS. I work in this building, I know the name of it.

Hello,

Looking at the photo for the nomination which has everything in capitals it does not seem that your insistence that if shouldn’t be fully capitalised is not a view held by everyone.

With that photo I don’t understand why you would expect the community to accept the change.

The Wayspot Appeals category is for appealing rejected reports or for asking for restoration of removed wayspots. You appeal an edit the same way you appeal a nomination. We get two appeals, each on a 15 day counter before we can use them again, so consider whether you want to use one on this.

Another option I can think of would be to use the property owner modification request form, linked at the top here under “Wayspot Removals.”

The questions on this form never match what I am trying to do, but we have been instructed to just pick anything to advance to the text box, and there you can write out your request. If the confirmation of receipt of report asks for your “credentials” as property manager, just ignore it. You will get an email later from an individual.

In the wayspot title, only the word BEWS is in all caps, as if the rest are normal words, but that’s an acronym. Thanks for the reply.

Sorry for the confusion.

It’s a common confusion. People see the word “Appeal” and naturally assume it is for appeals. But the description explains:

Someone will probably move this to a different category. No worries.
