Wayspot Removal Appeal: Der Bulle Von Recklinghausen

Wayspot Title: Der Bulle Von Recklinghausen

Location: 51.619186, 7.198223

City: Recklinghausen

Country: Germany

Screenshot of the Rejection Email:

Reason to remove: Permanently removed / No longer exists.

Additional Information:

I am appealing the rejection of my removal request for ‘Der Bulle Von Recklinghausen’. This Wayspot featured a bull statue located on the wooden canopy of a restaurant.

As shown in the attached evidence, the statue was permanently removed during a complete renovation and rebranding of the location.

  • Building Match: To ensure clarity, I have provided a current photo taken from the exact same angle as the original Wayspot image. You can see that the architectural details. Such as the window positions, the specific structure of the wooden canopy, and the distinctive slate-covered roof section above, match perfectly, confirming it is the same building.

  • Changes: The building has been repainted from a light beige to dark grey/black. The old ‘Steakhouse’ signage has been replaced by ‘Dahab Levant Restaurant’.

  • The Object: Most importantly, the bull statue is no longer present on the canopy. It was removed years ago, which is also verified by Google Street View imagery from 2022.

The landmark no longer exists and the Wayspot is therefore invalid.

Thank you for reviewing this appeal and for your time.

Thanks for the appeal, @BlauesEnton! After reviewing the additional evidence provided, we’ve decided to retire the Wayspot in question.
