Wayspot submission not accepted

I find it confusing that my submission of a fire station didn’t get approved as a wayspot, but they put a dynamax stop there after it did not meet requirements! Almost every submission doesn’t get approved, yet I see (spin) numerous stops in front of ppls house, in locations EXACTLY as I’m submitting that may or may not make it through appeal. I take the time to take good photos and research information on the location, yet I see spots approved with little to no information or uniqueness. Frustrating! Not going to waste my time submitting again!

Welcome to the forum!

The imported Power Spots did not necessarily have to meet criteria. Please see this post about that: Clarifications on Pokémon Go Power Spots

About the locations in front of homes, sometimes nominations get accepted in error, and sometimes locations that are eligible can look ineligible, especially with little free libraries. Please see these clarifications about those.

A fire station would not meet the criteria stated here: Wayspot Criteria — Wayfarer Help Center

If the only thing you wanted to add as a game location is the fire station, we are not going to be able to help you. But if you need some help identifying candidates that are more likely to be successful, a lot of folks here are great at looking around on a map to point things out. If you choose to leave a location for suggestions, be sure to protect your privacy.

Hello and welcome @SpyderRyder1969

As this sounds as though it is about nominating I shall move this to Nomination Support.

As @cyndiepooh has said experienced wayfinders here would love to try and help you to try and get some success. If you can give your general area we will look and if you can post some of the submissions that got rejected we will give advice.

Thank you for your feedback, some great advice. I will definitely seek out some help.

I totally understand why a fire station (my very first submission BTW) would not be a good spot for a gym as it could possibly impact an emergency situation. My confusion was that they turned it into a dynamax spot. Isn’t that the same as a gym? It would have made sense not to have any type of waypoint! At least with a pokestop, you spin and move on, a dynamax you hang out, battle and maybe wait around for respawn.

I have done about 30 submissions, most of them do not get accepted by the automated first check and must be appealed. About two thirds of them don’t get accepted though appeal. I would understand that if I did not provide good information as specified in the criteria, but I do. I am just frustrated with the process. It is time consuming to try to do good submissions that would have a positive impact on the community and when the automatically get denied with very generic vague reasons, it makes you not want to try.

I’m not posting this to speak on any specific submission, it is the general overall process. In large populated areas wayspots are plentiful. In rural communities, the only way to play is to drive to a city. This is not a new complaint, everyone knows this. There are many beautiful things to see in rural areas of the world and it would be nice to have wayspots to attract us to those areas as well.

if 2/3 of your appeals fail, you may be submitting things that are simply not eligible as wayspots, regardless of them being nice to look at and in rural areas.

Everything must meet Social, Exercise or Exploration Criteria (see https://wayfarer.nianticlabs.com/new/criteria/eligibility) and be safe and accessible. Something being safe and accessible does not make it eligible to be a wayspot, it needs to be eligible due to the cirteria.

If you can share some specific examples of the rejected nominations, we might be able to get a better idea of why. It could be that they are things which simply don’t fit the criteria, or it could be that you’re putting something in the description that makes it an auto reject. It might be your supporting photo isn’t showing the surrounding area, or that you’re not really putting any supporting info in to help support the nom. We can definitely try to help improve your nominations if we think they could be accepted - or we can advise you a more specific reason why they were likely rejected which will help you with future noms.
