Wayspots not showing up in Pokemon Go

Hi,

Looking for some further information on the topic of wayspots not showing up in Pokemon go. I posted about a few wayspots I created in a cemetery nearby where I live that were approved but never made it into the game, the forum determined that it was likely the case that the cemetery owner submitted a request to remove the wayspots from the game.

Please see attached image, this is an area near but outside of the previously mentioned cemetery, none of these orange wayspots are shown in Pokemon go, the only pokestop is the one blue circle on the map. This is the general location referenced. (21.3066333, -157.8418605)

The wayspots were not made by me and have existed for several months at least. They are spread out enough that they span multiple lvl17 S2 cells and at least some of them are over 10m apart.

My question is,

  1. should I bother with trying to remake these wayspots to get them reapproved to have more pokestops in the area?
  2. How could it be that all of these wayspots are ‘used in other Niantic games’ but not visible in Pokemon go?
  3. Is there something wrong with this area, should I bother with trying to get new unique Wayspots approved?

Any guidance would be appreciated !

These may be imported Wayspots that are only eligible to be Power Spots. See if this answers any of these questions:

A pin at this location only shows three Wayspots that went through the Wayfarer process in the nearby check radius.

Moving the pin to the center of the cemetery, are any of these in game?

If none of these are in game, then it is likely there is a property owner block. But if any of them are, then probably not.

Thank you for showing this map. None of these are in the game and so it may be a property owner block. I made two of those wayspots hoping to get more spots in the game. It sounds like the other orange spots in the nearby area may have only been imported for the sake of power spot locations.

I am wondering if it if it would make sense to try to submit some of these as wayspots?

Thanks!

If they are imported Wayspots, then you can submit them, but a lot of these imports do not meet the normal Wayfarer eligibility requirements.

This map is the nomination map screen from the Web Submit form if you want to check which are the player submitted Wayspots yourself. The S2 cell overlay is a third party tool, though.

“used in other games” doesn’t mean what it says.

It means they exist in the wayfarer database and can be used by any Niantic games that want to use them, based on those games’ rules for using wayspots. A wayspot might be used by no game, some games or all games. Usage in one game has nothing to do with usage in other games and doesn’t prevent them being used in other games.

Powerspots created from imports (no description, no image) don’t stop wayspots being created. Wayspots that aren’t visible in Pokemon Go will show up on the review page and cause rejection for duplicating an existing wayspot.

From the menu on the left, click on Submit. This facility is provided by Niantic.

I believe @sandrucci54 is talking about S2 cells.

As Niantic do not officially endorse any tools to display we have to be careful what is said so I will just say “Wayfarer Tools”.

Niantic has never not allowed the community to talk about cells.

I am not allowed to share a link to third party tools on the forum, but you can get the links from the Wayfarer Discussion Discord: Wayfarer Discussion 5.29

I did not say that we could not talk about S2 Cells, nothing in my post states this. I just mentioned that I wasn’t aware of what could be said about the tools

Grazie mille. Davvero.

Thanks for the clarification! This makes sense to me.
